Executive Directors' Update
Dear families,
Thanks to all who joined us for the Peak to Peak Gala last Friday evening. What a fun event! And it successfully raised a lot of money to support the school (final numbers are still being calculated). We loved the Apres Ski theme and want to extend huge thanks to Rachel Hirt, Lindsay Camacho, and all of the Gala Committee members who made it such a wonderful, community-building event. Next year, we’ll celebrate Peak to Peak’s 25th anniversary, so get ready for more fun next year!
This week we are sharing some key operational updates:
-
Transportation: After spring break, we will be celebrating our 100th bus-driven field trip of the year! This will happen on April 4th and is a 2nd grade field trip to Sombrero Marsh. The 100th field trip benchmark does not include all of the morning routes and athletic events our buses have taken this year! As shared at the town hall on March 13th (click here to watch a recording), our all-electric bus fleet resulted in $3,200 in fuel savings and a reduction of 17,580 pounds of estimated greenhouse gas emissions in the first half of the year. We are currently exploring the possibility of adding a third morning route for the 2024-25 school year.
-
Auditorium Construction: We are on track to start construction on our auditorium and other renovations in early June after school lets out for the summer. You can learn more about construction projects in the town hall slides (slides 4 - 7).
-
Fundraising: You can be a part of leaving a legacy with the new auditorium for making a donation to sponsor a chair in the new auditorium. Click here for more information.
Happy spring break! As we wrap up a successful Peak Week in our high school, we know everyone is excited for a week off. Whether you plan to spend it resting at home or on an adventure of some sort, we wish you happy and healthy time with loved ones.
Best regards,
Jennie Klein, Executive Director of Education | jennifer.klein@bvsd.orgJennifer Douglas, Executive Director of Operations | jennifer.douglas@bvsd.org
