November 9, 2007

Dear Peak to Peak Parents,

We are excited to announce that as of November 12, 2007, Peak to Peak parents will be able to put money into their children’s meal accounts and pay certain school fees over the internet using a new, secure web-based account management tool called PayForIt.

PayForIt benefits schools, parents and students.  Food Services will spend much less time handling checks, parents do not have to worry about the money not reaching school, and students never have to worry about not having money to pay for lunch.

PayForIt may be accessed via the BVSD Web site at www.bvsd.org. Parents can set-up their own account by logging into www.payforit.net.   All that is needed is a valid email address, a credit card, and your child’s 6-digit student identification number.  Once an account is established, PayForIt allows parents to:

Payments processed by 8 PM should post to the student’s account the following business day. There is a $2 convenience fee that is assessed for each transaction.  The $2 fee is charged only when you add money to your child’s account.  There is no fee when purchases are made from your child’s account.  If you have multiple children enrolled at Peak to Peak, you can add money to each child’s account during the same transaction and pay only one $2 fee.

Transactions processed by PayForIt are safe and secure.  PayForIt utilizes LinkPoint payment technology and security standards developed by First Data Corporation, an industry leader in electronic transaction processing.

If you wish to use a Mac computer to process a transaction, you must use the Firefox internet browser; PayForIt is not compatible with the Safari internet browser.  You may download Firefox for free by visiting www.mozilla.com.

If you choose not to use PayForIt for credit card transactions, Peak to Peak will continue to accept checks and cash.

If you have any questions about any aspect of Peak to Peak’s use of PayForIt, please contact Sharon Noel, Food Service Director, at (303) 453-4782 or sharon.noel@bvsd.org.
