GENERAL AND OCCUPATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS:

 

SOCIETY OF WOMEN ENGINEERS, NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP—several scholarships ranging from $1000-$5000.  DUE MAY 15, 2008, go to www.societyofwomenengineers.org/scholarships/brochure.aspx.  Materials must be submitted or mailed to the Chicago address given.

 

 

ABBOTT AND FENNER SCHOLARSHIP—2 scholarships given for $1000 each based on essay.  See essay options and instructions at www.abbottandfenner.com, DUE June 20, 2008.

 

 

THE CHARTER FUND GRANT—DUE MAY 2, specifically for Colorado students who will still have financial need after financial aid and other opportunities are proven not to be adequate for the student to attend college next year.  Applications are available from the Counseling Center and at www.piton.org/charterfund.  (May want to wait until financial aid award letters are received, but before May 2!)

 

 

MIKKELSON STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS—for seniors who will major in math, science, or engineering.  A local program that awards 2 RENEWABLE scholarships for $3000 per year.  DUE APRIL 18, 2008, visit www.mikkelson.com.

 

THE FOUNTAINHEAD ESSAY CONTEST—sponsored by the Ayn Rand Institute, an essay contest with awards from $50 to $10,000.  Based on meanings of the Fountainhead, application is DUE APRIL 25. Go to www.aynrand.org or come to the Counseling Center for information.

 

APPLE FOR LAWRENCE ENRIETTO SCHOLARSHIP—for graduates who are Louisville residents, based on several criteria including need (25%).  DUE APRIL 16, applications are available from the Counseling Center.

 

THE KIT FARAGHER FOUNDATION—a memorial scholarship for $5,000 per year for the first 2 years of college or technical training.  Visit www.kitfaragherfoundation.org for application and information, DUE MAY 23.

 

 

 

 

 

 

SCHOOL & CAREER SPECIFIC:

 

CIBROWSKI FAMILY FOUNDATION—for seniors who will attend Univ. of Denver or Colo. School of Mines for Engineering or Chemistry.  Specific GPA and test scores are required.  DUE April 15, visit the Counseling Center for an application/information.
