Peak to Peak Dedicates Respect Wall

(Lafayette, Colorado)  Character Development has always been a part of the educational experience of students at Peak to Peak Charter School!  However, the school’s latest project has turned more than a few heads!   Each one of Peak to Peak ‘s 1,233 students from kindergarten through 12th grade has created a beautiful tile to be installed on two 35 foot concrete walls, centrally located in front of the school.   The students were asked to first draw their design and then paint their tiles, all centering on the importance of respect, tolerance and diversity.  Dedication of this wall will take place on November 1, 2005 at 8:00 a.m.

This project was made possible in part due to generous grants from the Southern Poverty Law Center and The Colorado Trust and from many generous donations of goods and labor from areas businesses and Peak to Peak families.   The tiles will be displayed in a way that celebrates the beauty, color and strength of diversity in our world.
