Peak to Peak Charter School Students Rally for Hurricane Relief

(Lafayette, Colorado)  Like many others in the community who heard about the massive destruction and human loss suffered in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, students at Peak to Peak Charter School in Lafayette asked what they could do to help.  With leadership from history teacher Catherine Schyling, Peak to Peak students are today collecting water that will be transported to the areas hit by the hurricane.

Schyling’s history students rushed to put up posters and get word out about the water drive.  It resulted in the donation of about 700 gallons and 1800 individual water bottles being collected by Peak to Peak students.  The water will be delivered to an Alice 1059 radio station drop off location this weekend.  Alice 1059 is working with All American Mayflower, which has generously volunteered to drive trucks down to the area stricken by the storm.
