The Speak to Peak is written in PDF format. Do you have Adobe Reader on your computer? It sounds like PDF files have somehow become "associated" with Word, and Word can't actually read them. We had to go the PDF route because anyone can get & use Adobe Reader, but many people don't have MS Word.

If you don't have it, it's a free download. Get it and install it. You can get it from Adobe. Just fill in the few dropdown lists at the bottom and download it. Then run it from where ever you have downloaded it to. Installing it should straighten out the whole problem.

If you do already have it, and it still is automatically opening in Word there are two things to try. The easy thing to try first is look on your desktop, or in the Start Menu for Adobe Reader. Run it one time and it should pop up a message saying something like "PDF files are not associated with Adobe. Would you like to re-associate them?" Tell it yes, you want Adobe to fix the problem. Exit back out of Adobe, go back out to the web page and try it again.
