Dr. Timothy J. (Tim) Carrig

President

Scientist/Manager

Tim Carrig is Director of Research & Development at Lockheed Martin Sensing & Exploration Systems - Coherent Technologies.  Dr. Carrig holds a doctorate in applied physics from Cornell University and has undergraduate degrees in physics & mathematics.  He believes in innovation in education, has been a member of the P2P community for seven years, has a son in high school at P2P and is serving his second term on the board.  He has volunteered as a member or board liaison to the Accountability, Curriculum, Facilities, Finance, Fundraising, Hiring, Nominating and Technology Committees and as a Science Fair judge.

Ms. Sheryl R. Shafer

Business / Marketing

Sheryl Shafer’s professional background has centered on marketing communications, from writing and editing to leadership experience as vice president of marketing communications of a tech company to managing a consulting practice for more than 11 years.  She has been an active volunteer for Peak to Peak since1998, serving previously as president and vice-president of the board of directors as well as co-chair of the Hiring, Community Relations, Character Development and Grant Writing committees.  Ms. Shafer has two high school students who attend Peak to Peak.

Dr. Tahllee Baynard

Tahllee Baynard is currently serving his third year of a three year term on the board of directors.  Dr. Baynard received his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from The University of Chicago and undergraduate degree with majors in chemistry and history from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA.  He is a research scientist at Lockheed Martin Sensing & Exploration Systems - Coherent Technologies.    He has a daughter in Peak to Peak Elementary School.

Mr. Gregory (Greg) Richards

Business Leader

Greg Richards has 15 years experience in engineering and operations management for Time Warner, Comtech Telecommunications, and Sun Microsystems. On the Peak to Peak board, he chairs the finance committee, serves as president of Friends of Peak to Peak and also sits on the facilities committee.  This is Mr. Richards’ second year on the Peak to Peak board and his third year of involvement with Peak to Peak.  However, he is passionate about education and perpetually in awe of the quality of instruction which Peak to Peak’s staff and teachers provide.  He has a daughter in 5th grade, a son in 3rd grade and a daughter in 1st grade at Peak to Peak.

Ms. Caroline Clark

Caroline Clark is a graduate of San Diego State University with a BA in Organizational Psychology. She has management and claims experience with Geico, State Farm and Allstate. Caroline has owned and operated small businesses in Virginia and California. She has been an active Peak to Peak volunteer since 2001. Caroline has a daughter in middle school and a daughter in high school at Peak to Peak.

Mr. Donald A. (Don) Ferguson, Jr.

Project Manager

Don Ferguson is an I/T Consultant with over 25 years' experience in technology services and project management. Building on his position at IBM as a Certified Executive Project Manager, he started a consulting business to bring his business experience and his passion for the productive use of technology to help small companies with their I/T needs.    Mr. Ferguson has over ten years' experience as a board member and strategic planner at other local non-profit organizations. He has a BA in Mathematics from Colorado College and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Colorado. He has served Peak to Peak as board Vice President, President and Secretary, and as a member of the Community Relations, Contract, Policy and Strategic Plan Committees.  His son attends Peak to Peak High School.  His daughter, a Peak to Peak graduate, attends Colorado College.

Mr. Sam Todd

Director of Operations

Mr. Todd was born and raised on a dairy farm in Central Indiana.  He earned a B.S. in economics from Purdue University, a M.S. in Industrial Relations from Michigan State University, and a M.S. in Business/Economic Development from Eastern University.  Mr. Todd began his career with Hewlett-Packard Company as a Senior HR Manager for 6 years in Boise, Idaho.  He then lived and worked in the inner city of Philadelphia doing community development for 5 years while working at Eastern University as Executive Director of their Adult and Professional Studies program.  After living in Guatemala for 6 months, he worked for Global Partners for Development in Atlanta doing economic development work in Bangladesh.  Mr. Todd then returned to Indiana to help care for his elderly parents, where he started his career working in schools.  For 11 years he served as Business Manager/CFO for a Western Boone Schools, a public school district near Indianapolis.  In 1993, he moved to Fort Collins to become the Director of Operations for Wingshadow, a social services organization with 7 programs serving at-risk youth, including an alternative school with the Poudre School District.  He then worked as Corporate Controller for Ultimate Support Systems for 3 years before joining the Peak to Peak Team.  He is also an adjunct business faculty member for Colorado Christian University.

Mr. Anthony (Tony) Fontana

K-12 Executive Principal

Mr. Fontana has been with Peak to Peak for the last 6 years, 5 in the role of Executive Principal.  He taught English for 13 years at both the Middle School and High School levels. He earned a B.A. in English from Colorado State University and a master's degree in organizational management from the University of Phoenix. Mr. Fontana has coached a wide variety of sports for the last 23 years, sponsored numerous clubs including National Junior Honor Society.  He has one daughter adopted from China and will add another child from China in June or July of 2008.

Ms. Noelle Roni

Elementary Principal

Noelle was born and raised in Seattle, Washington.  In 1990, she graduated with a BA in Psychology from the University of Washington.  In 1992, she graduated in Education and was endorsed to teach Kindergarten through eighth grade.  In 1994, she graduated from City University with and M.Ed in Guidance and Counseling.  In 2002, she graduated with her Administrative Credential from the University of Washington.

She worked in the Seattle School District for 14 years as an elementary teacher and counselor; a middle school teacher and counselor; an Assistant Principal and finally an Elementary Principal.  She was also a district trainer in Social Skills programs such as Second Step and Relate for kids.

Noelle moved to Colorado in September 2004 after getting married.  That year she worked as a K-5 Reading Interventionist and the PM 1st/2nd grade teacher in the Adams 12 School District.  In 2005, she became the Elementary Principal at Peak to Peak.

Mr. David Hazen

Middle School Principal

Mr. Hazen has more than 25 years of experience in education and related fields, including teaching at all levels from kindergarten through adult. He earned an M.A. in educational administration from the University of Phoenix in Denver, a B.A. in theater from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, and teacher certification at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Mr. Hazen’s previous positions include: charter school principal in Lakewood, Colorado, middle and high school social studies teacher, drama director, high school basketball coach, nutrition and health counselor, and assistant projects director at Americorps NCCC in Denver.

Mr. Kyle Mathews

High School Principal

Mr. Mathews was born and raised in Portland, Oregon.  He earned a B.A. in international affairs from Lewis and Clark College, an M.A. in history from the University of Colorado at Denver, and is currently completing his Ed.S degree in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Colorado at Denver.  Prior to teaching, he worked in international relief and development and has lived in Senegal and Uzbekistan. When not trying to keep up with his twins, he is an avid cyclist and telemark skier.
