King Soopers Community Rewards Program Reminder
Did you know last year we received over $22,000 through the King Soopers Reward Program? Each time a registered P2P community member shops (groceries or gas) at King Soopers and enters their reward/phone number (the same number you enter to receive $ off your grocery or gas bill) our school receives a portion of their quarterly $250k charity donation. The average family of 4 results in approximately $100 donation per year. With over 900 families at Peak to Peak this can continue to be a large fundraiser for our school. Thank you for taking a minute to link your information if you have not done so (only needs to be done once) to help support this effort ~ and thank you for encouraging extended family members to do so as well!

Safety and Security at Peak to Peak
Our top priority is to ensure the safety of our students, faculty, staff and community members. Our leadership team works alongside BVSD and with other organizations to enhance our safety and security protocols.
Please visit our safety page to familiarize yourself with our campus safety language and procedures.
Peak to Peak’s Executive Leadership Team and staff members engage in regular training sessions that enhance our ability to respond to safety concerns. Some examples of our recent work include:
-
ELT members engaged in two scenario based training sessions this summer. These sessions are designed to ensure our leadership team practices possible emergency situations and engages in discussions that refine our practice.
-
All doors across campus now have a “Stop the Prop” reminder warning. Everyone in our school community is responsible for ensuring our buildings are secure. In the past, there have been concerns about propped doors. School leadership continues to remind both staff and community members of the need to keep all doors closed and secured.
-
Jennifer Douglas and Jennie Klein are both participating in the statewide Colorado Safer Schools Initiative (CSSI), a partnership with Public Education and Business Coalition (PEBC) and Confluence Policy & Strategy Group (Confluence PSG) our meetings consist of a wide range of stakeholders who discuss various issues affecting safety in our schools.
-
ELT members attended BVSD’s Leadership Kickoff. The head of BVSD’s Safety and Security trained all school leaders on BVSD’s security procedures.
-
Emergency Response Training: All ELT members participate in emergency response training. This training is renewed each year.
-
All ELT team members are certified in CPR.
-
Peak to Peak and BVSD both utilize safety protocols developed by the “I Love U Guys” foundation. Common safety procedures are posted in classrooms and community spaces across campus in both English and Spanish. We are in the process of replacing any missing posters.
-
Peak to Peak holds monthly drills on campus.
-
This summer, the Lafayette Police Department used our campus to facilitate their team training sessions. This ensures continued relationship development between Peak to Peak and local first responders. In addition, this practice ensures our local responders are familiar with our campus.

Donate Used Shoes to Raise Money for High School Basketball
Ready to get rid of some gently worn shoes? Your old shoes can help support our boys and girls basketball teams! Any shoes that are outgrown, are out of season or are no longer in style are welcome. Beginning August 18th through October 18th, there will be collection bins in the NE gym and at Jax Farm and Ranch.
The shoes our team collects will be kept out of landfills; they'll be repurposed to support microenterprises in developing nations such as Haiti, Cambodia and Ghana; and the basketball teams receive money for every pound donated!
It's a win/win!
Questions? Feel free to email Sarah Boonstra.
