Parent Parking On Campus
Dear families,
If you drive your Pumas to school in the morning and/or pick them up in the afternoon, please use the front circle and north drive for delivering students to and from school. Please do not park in student-reserved spaces in the west lot. We have a handful of visitor spaces reserved for guests who are coming onto campus, but otherwise, we expect families not to park for the morning or afternoon pick-up times. Please understand that our high school drivers need every available space set aside for them in order to get them to classes on time. After hours of operation, you are more than welcome to park in any of the available lots.Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. -

Board Update
1. The Annual Fund Rachel Hirt presented to the board that the annual fund has begun and that she is trying a couple of new things this year. She said her main objective is that families opt-in and participate at any dollar value.2. Accountability Committee Presentation Cathy Rein presented to the board about the leadership response to the family survey. Many things were and are being implemented as a result of the survey, including but not limited to; changes in our communication pathways, more MTSS for our elementary and middle school students, reliable bus services, and after-school care.3. Strategic Discussion The board had a strategic discussion around facility initiatives. We looked at drawings of what we would do with the bond money and talked about the next steps so that we could get construction started on a quick timeline for those funds. We also discussed revisiting our long-term master plan and decided we needed to go back to the faculty, students, and community about what needs we had that were still aligned with our last master plan discussion prior to COVID. We are putting together a task force for further exploration of our school's current needs.4. Student Equity Committee Jennie Klein met with the Student Equity Committee and they have made it their priority for the year to talk with students and gather data surrounding the standards-based grading and how our students feel about it.5. Next Board Meeting Our next board meeting will be on November 8th at 5:00 PM. -
Transportation Update
Dear bus families,
Happy Friday! As the beautiful autumn we’ve had this year starts to wind down, our transportation department is preparing for inclement weather. We do training to prepare for various weather scenarios.
In addition, we want to let you know that there may be days when school is not canceled, but we still have to cancel our morning routes due to the weather. BVSD buses have chains and ours do not, which means that we will need to be more conservative in determining whether it’s safe for our buses to go out and do morning routes. We will try to make any decisions by 6:00 am so you have adequate time to plan for a different method of transportation to school; you will be notified by both text and email. We hope that there are not many days when we need to do this! To insure that you receive this notification in a timely manner, please make sure your phone number and email are correct in Infinite Campus.
On days when there is a late start due to weather, if we feel it is safe for our buses to go out, we’ll adjust our morning route times and will communicate that information via text and email.
Last, if there is a lot of banked snow, this may slightly impact our bus stops. Our drivers will always seek the safest place to stop and sometimes this may not be in the usual spot (though always within visual sight line of the normal pickup spot).
As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns.
Thanks so much,
