Vision and Hearing Screening

BVSD VISION AND HEARING SCREENING POLICY

Colorado State Law mandates a vision and hearing screening annually.

Grades K, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, and 9 are screened.  In addition all students in learning services, new to the district or referred by teachers are screened.

If your child requires any further evaluations you will receive a letter from BVSD Health Services with instructions.

Parents/guardians have the right to remove their student from screenings.  Please contact Louise Sternberg, the BVSD Screening Coordinator at louise.sternberg@bvsd.org.

Peak to Peak screens 750+ students over 1.5 days each year.  We can only do this with the help of volunteers.  Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator if you are interested.  We are always happy to have the help.
