Accessibility Standards

Our goal for our website is WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, but we have applied higher levels of  Success Criteria, up to AAA, when possible.

Our Efforts

Peak to Peak is committed to providing equitable access to all. Our organization has a plan to prioritize, evaluate, remediate, and continuously improve every digital touchpoint within our school. To that end, Peak to Peak has developed a plan to prioritize, evaluate, remediate and continuously improve every digital touchpoint within our content. Below, you’ll find just some of the areas that Peak to Peak is working to improve accessibility.

Obstacles to the Process

We’ve made great progress since HB21-1110 has passed despite substantial challenges, including, staffing limitations, quantity of digital content, platform constraints, lack of alignment between IT systems, and budget restrictions.

Organizational Measures

Since the passing of HB21-1110 and HB24-1454, Peak to Peak has taken a number of steps to improve accessibility of digital content, including:

  • transitioning the entire Peak to Peak website to a new platform with greater flexibility to customize content to digital accessibility standards
  • acquiring a website monitoring tool, in partnership with BVSD, to continually monitor and identify accessibility of content
  • applying for and receiving a SIPA (Statewide Internet Portal Authority) grant for a program to help remediate unaccessible PDFs
  • conducting Professional Development for all staff outlining the basics of digital accessibility and how to create or correct documents for our community
