Follow-Up on Thursday’s Lockdown Alarm

Follow-Up on Thursday’s Lockdown Alarm
  • All School News

As we shared Thursday, the lockdown alarm that sounded that morning was an accidental activation. While there was no threat to campus safety at any time, this unscheduled alarm gave us valuable insight into areas for improvement within our alert system and training protocols. We have already begun reviewing these systems and procedures to strengthen our safety readiness moving forward. We also recognize that even a brief alarm can cause stress or anxiety. Our counseling team remains available to support any student who may need to talk or process their experience.

As part of our review, we also want to hear from our community. If your student had an experience during Thursday’s alarm that you believe would be helpful for us to understand—whether something that went well or something that could be improved—please share that feedback with us using the contact form at the bottom of the Digest page on our website. Your insights will help us make meaningful adjustments to better support students and staff in the future.

We are grateful for the calm and care shown by students, families, and staff during this unexpected situation, and for your continued partnership in keeping Peak to Peak a safe and supportive environment for all.
