Reminder: Internal Climate Survey - Annual Notification & Opt-Out
- All School News
Peak to Peak’s annual internal student climate survey will be administered on February 17th to students in grades 3-12. This anonymous survey takes approximately 10 minutes and is conducted once per year.
Survey Questions
Elementary students are asked 16 questions about a range of topics, from the effectiveness of curriculum and instruction to bullying and safety. Students are also asked to self-identify their gender (male/female/prefer not to answer).
Secondary students are asked 28 questions about topics including the effectiveness of curriculum and instruction, bullying, safety, mental health, and substance use. Students are asked to self-identify demographic information, including race, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
All demographic questions have an opt-out option. This information helps us better understand student experiences, identify trends over time, and support our school community. Families are welcome to review all questions in the Current Climate Survey Questions document.
Why Participate?
Survey results help us compare year-over-year student experiences and guide goals and improvement efforts to maintain a healthy school culture. Climate survey results are a KPI (Key Performance Indicator) in the school's strategic plan for Relational Excellence. While participation is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged.
Use of Results
Our administrative team reviews results, identifies data trends over time, targets areas for annual improvement, and uses feedback to monitor and adjust throughout the year. A summary of findings will be shared in the Weekly Digest.
Can I Opt-Out?
If you do not wish for your student to participate, please complete the opt-out form. If you have additional questions, please contact your level’s Assistant Principal. This notification is in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment.
