New Volunteer Needs

New Volunteer Needs
  • All School News

Our teachers and staff sometimes need extra help in their classrooms, at events, on field trips, etc. Needs include in-class help, projects that can be completed at home, mentorship, weekly needs, one-time events, and more. These requests are posted on the Volunteer Page and updated regularly. New requests will also be shared here, in the Weekly Digest, each week.

Note: you must be an approved volunteer to participate in any student events or opportunities. Please allow a minimum of 2 weeks to become approved. Contact zaira.nevarez-corbett@bvsd.org to verify or update your volunteer status.

Here are the newest requests from our staff:

  • We are looking for 2-3 people to help with set up and ushering at the ribbon cutting for the Arts Center on Wednesday, April 16th from 3:15 - 4:45. Please email p2p.friends@bvsd.org if interested.
  • 7th Grade Earth Science teacher Mr. Knox is looking for 7-8 parents who are willing to help chaperone a field trip on April 22nd and/or 23rd. The 7th grade will be taking a period-long field trip to the Lafayette Outdoor Classroom located near the Bob Burger Rec Center. We will hop on the bus for a short ride at the beginning of the period, walk around and learn about the wetlands, and then return before the end of the period. Some additional adults for crowd control would be much appreciated. Please email me at brian.knox@bvsd.org if you are able to donate your time for one or more class periods. Thank you! (See below for field trip schedule)
    • 2nd period: 7:55-9:25 on 4/22
    • 4th period: 9:35-11:05 on 4/22
    • 6th period: 11:15-1:30* on 4/22
    • 1st period: 7:55-9:25 on 4/23
    • 3rd period: 9:35-11:05 on 4/23
  • We'll be hosting our next staff appreciation lunch on Thursday, April 17th. The theme is "International Foods," everyone's favorite! Thank you in advance for supporting this fun opportunity to provide a festive lunch for the entire K-12 staff on that day. If you have any questions, please reach out to the Friends office or Peak to Peak parent Rebecca Day, who's helping coordinate the event, with any questions. Sign up in this Google Sheet to contribute to the staff lunch.
