Mr. Kevin Pugh
HS Assistant Principal, Kevin Pugh is no stranger to Peak to Peak, having served as the Assistant Coach/Goalkeeper Coach for boys soccer for several years. Kevin comes to us with 30+ years of experience as an educator, including nearly two decades as an administrator, spanning K-12 and higher education (CU-Boulder, Syracuse University, Baldwin-Wallace College, and SUNY-New Paltz). Kevin has classroom experience at the college level teaching Leadership Development, Social Justice & Diversity Education, and Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving. He has also spearheaded the design and delivery of K-8 Character Education curriculum and served as the lead teacher throughout K-8.
Kevin has degrees in Communication, Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs, and is currently completing a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership with a research focus on Restorative Practices. Before joining Peak to Peak, Kevin served 14 years as the Dean of School Culture at Flagstaff Academy in Longmont, where he led the successful implementation of restorative practices and overhauled the school’s culture, discipline plan and process - a key piece of their recognition as a National School to Watch. A best-selling author, he is a nationally sought-after trainer, speaker, and consultant on restorative practices in schools and workplaces. He was previously the Director of Community Affairs and Restorative Justice for the Lafayette Police Department, taught juvenile justice in the Police Academy, and is a nationally certified crime prevention specialist.
Outside of work, Kevin enjoys skiing, soccer, photography, and music (guitar, piano). He and his wife have lived in Lafayette for over 25 years and have two children: Garrett (headed to Maryville University in St. Louis this year), and Gillian (Junior at Centaurus HS).
