Graduation Requirements
Peak to Peak and Boulder Valley School District are committed to ensuring that every student succeeds after high school – no matter which college or career pathway they choose.
Beginning with the Class of 2021, in order for BVSD students to graduate high school and receive a high school diploma, they must meet both BVSD’s credit requirements and demonstrate their competence in English and Mathematics with a passing grade or equivalent, as required by Colorado’s graduation guidelines.
Students must successfully complete a minimum of 230 credits, including completion of specific subject area requirements:

Students must demonstrate competency in English & math:
Students must complete at least one of the following measures in English and at least one in Math, as well as meet or exceed the measure’s corresponding cut score or criteria to demonstrate college and career readiness in English and Math.

Graduation Bound
Peak to Peak and Boulder Valley School District are committed to ensuring our students are prepared to meet these requirements so they can graduate on time. Our counseling team will support our students and families throughout this process.
Sophomore Year
Students meet with their counselors in February of their sophomore year to discuss their graduation pathways in English and Math.
Junior Year
Students will work towards completing the specific criteria for the measurement pathway. For example, one option is the SAT exam. Every student is required to take the state-mandated SAT in April of their junior year.
Senior Year
High school counselors will continue to support students' needs and work with them to facilitate the right pathway to meet their requirements, if they have not already been met.
Graduation
Our goal is to ensure that every student reaches this important milestone. Students will be confirmed to graduate once they have met both the credit requirement and demonstrated competency in English and Math.
