Elementary Library

Welcome!
The elementary library's curriculum supports the Standards for the 21st Century Learner. Specifically, information literacy learners use skills, resources, and tools to:
- Inquire, think critically, and gain knowledge.
- Draw conclusions, make informed decisions, apply knowledge to new situations, and create new knowledge.
- Share knowledge and participate ethically and productively as members of our democratic society.
- Pursue personal and aesthetic growth.
Each homeroom class visits the Library on a weekly basis on their designated library day. Students have access to fiction and non-fiction materials. Library lessons include lessons on website evaluation, citation, and using databases for research. K-5 classes compare and contrast fiction and nonfiction books with emphasis on understanding the parts of a nonfiction book.
