How It Works

When you come to a consultation, please bring the assignment rubric and your current notes, outline, and/or draft.

 

You will meet one-on-one with a consultant who is trained to assist students at any stage of the writing process, from developing ideas to polishing your paper. We will discuss your specific writing concerns and provide recommendations that we believe will make the greatest impact on your work.
Note - You maintain ownership and take full responsibility of the papers that you create and turn in. The Writing Center staff provides suggestions, but you may choose whether or not to incorporate the feedback you receive.

 

We typically schedule consultations in 15- and 30-minute increments. If you need more time, please let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

 

We work with students, faculty, and staff to support most disciplines, genres, and skill levels. We are happy to provide feedback on a wide range of class assignments, as well as grants, proposals, etc.

Note - We currently do not have the ability to support writing in languages other than English.

 

We’re happy to answer your specific grammar and style questions; however, the point of the Writing Center is to teach you how to recognize your errors and improve your ability to edit your own writing -- NOT to produce perfect papers.

 

Yes, you can! Please stop by the Think Tank & Writing Center for Walk-in Support. We may have aides and/or assistants who can help you right away, but you may have to wait a few minutes for someone to become available.
