Professional Development Days

As part of the school's Differentiated Professional Development Program, Peak to Peak's Center for Professional Development organizes and facilitates staff professional development days for the two weeks prior to school starting in August and throughout the school year. Professional development days provide time for teachers and administrators to work together on instructional best practices, vertical and horizontal curriculum development and alignment, student concerns, department and grade level initiatives, and K-12 topics. Professional development agendas are deliberately designed to provide time for a variety of K-12 priorities. Staff-led groups made up of K-12 teachers and staff have time to pursue deeper learning on topics of professional interest. Teachers meet by level with their principals to work on ongoing level goals and initiatives. Secondary teachers meet in curricular departments to work on department-wide goals and curriculum development, while elementary staff meet in grade level teams to plan curriculum and disaggregate ongoing assessment data.
