FAQ's about safety drills and safety protocols
-
Will the school still conduct safety drills? How do emergency procedures change, if at all, during the different phases?
Peak to Peak will continue monthly fire and safety drills throughout the 20-21 school year. To the extent possible, social distancing guidelines will be preserved. During certain phases, lockdown drills may be limited in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines. In the event of an actual emergency, our staff members are well-trained and will follow standard protocols to protect the health and safety of students.

Will classroom doors be propped open? Will windows be left open?
We recognize the desire to facilitate as much air exchange as possible. At the same time, however, we must also adhere to the safety protocols that are established. Teachers may continue to open windows in the classrooms that have them as long as they are closed and locked before the teacher leaves every night. Doors must remain closed, however, in order to ensure that access to the building is limited to the designated monitored entrances.
All building rooftop units have been adjusted to increase the air exchange capacity to circulate as much outside fresh air as possible. Professional consultants have verified that the filters on the rooftop units provide the maximum allowable filtration for our system.
