Family Mentor Program
The Family Mentor Program was developed to help introduce new parents and students to Peak to Peak. The program is intended to give each incoming family a point of contact for questions and information to make them as comfortable and knowledgeable as possible as they transition to a new school. To help make your experience of transitioning to Peak to Peak as smooth as possible, you will be contacted by an existing family, or Family Mentor, who can serve as a focal point for your general questions.
A Family Mentor will contact you by phone, welcome you to Peak to Peak, and answer any questions you may have. Feel free to exchange contact information with your mentor.
At the beginning of each school year, there isa Back-to-School Coffee to welcome our new families to the school. Please join us! Everyone is welcome. In the secondary school, new students will be matched up with existing students via two student mentoring programs called 360 (middle school) and PAC (high school). You will receive more information about these programs as the school year begins. We will meet in front of school.
In the elementary school, staff and students will ensure that all new students are linked up with classmates to ensure their first day and the transition to a new school is welcoming and comfortable.
Although we have verified our new family lists with the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD), there is a possibility of missing a new family. If you have not been contacted by a Family Mentor before school begins, please e-mail Friends of Peak to Peak at p2p.friends@bvsd.org or call Rachel Hirt at 303-453-4614.
