  • COVID Reminders

Parents/Guardians: We are continuing to identify a handful of positive COVID-19 cases on campus each week. In an effort to keep our community as healthy as possible, please remember to keep your students home if they are feeling ill and take advantage of the many COVID-19 testing sites available in our area to find out if those sniffles or sore throats are actually COVID-19. We need everyone's help to minimize the spread of the virus. Thanks very much for your support, and remember that all of the school's COVID health and safety protocols can be found on this page of our website.

  • Unity Day on Wednesday, October 20th - Wear Orange; Do an Act of Kindness

Join us for UNITY DAY on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2021! WEAR ORANGE...to show unity for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion and to send a visible message that no child should ever experience bullying. Bullying is an intentional behavior that hurts, harms, or humiliates a student, either physically or emotionally, and can happen while at school, in the community, or online. Those bullying often have more social or physical “power,” while those targeted have difficulty stopping the behavior. The behavior is typically repeated, though it can be a one-time incident. Students often describe bullying as when “someone makes you feel less about who you are as a person.” Wear an ORANGE T-SHIRT, ORANGE shoelaces, ORANGE socks, or anything else! We also invite everyone to do an act of kindness that day! HERE are some suggestions. Please click this Unity Day Flyer for more details.

  • Change to Proposed Curriculum

Earlier this month, we shared a curriculum proposal to change the name of our current Speech and Debate course to Speaking to Empower. Unfortunately, the new name was left off the proposal, and details about the curriculum changes were not adequately addressed. Just to clarify, this will fundamentally be a new course that will offer communication skills and training to all interested high school students, not just those participating in the speech and debate club/competitive program. Please click for a link and additional information.

  • It’s time for the annual LMC Book Drive!

Are you YETI?? The yeti is a mythical creature, like Bigfoot, and our theme for this year’s Book Drive. For the month of October, we are collecting donations for the library to keep the books up to date and relevant to our students. Please consider donating from the elementary or secondary wish lists on Amazon.com. These lists were curated by our P2P librarians who know what is needed. The annual Book Drive is our only library fundraiser and your help is extremely important. We thank you in advance for your participation! YETI, SET, GO!!!
