In response to Governor Polis’ announcement today that additional measures to encourage social and physical distancing are now in place in Colorado, we wanted to send a quick message. Given the guidance from the state, we are canceling the remaining two opportunities for picking up items at school (March 23rd and March 30th) as this does not qualify as a critical activity as described by the Governor. If you have an urgent need to pick something up, please reply to this email to let us know the circumstances.
We are aware that many members of our community may be facing significant economic impacts as a result of closures and employment reductions. We can only imagine the burdens each of your families may be facing. We understand that having your children home and feeling the added pressure to support their learning is another unexpected component to factor in. You have our commitment that we will work with our teachers and with you to ease this process to the extent we are able to do so.
Our students will be looking to the adults in their lives for stability. Please know that we will continue to work hard to provide consistency for them and to support our Puma community. We are continuing to shape our distance learning plan in preparation for next week, and we are confident that our teachers, staff, and students will rise to the challenge. We encourage you to reach out to us or your student’s teachers if there is anything specific we can do to support you.
