ILLNESS: STAY HOME IF EXPERIENCING SYMPTOMS OR IF EXPOSED
Peak to Peak and the Boulder Valley School District share the goal to keep students in-person five days a week, with as few COVID-19-related interruptions as possible.
We need everyone’s support to accomplish this goal – primarily by following our cardinal health protocols: stay home if you are sick or if you’ve been exposed to anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Students or staff experiencing any of the following symptoms must stay home:
Fever (100.4 or above)
Chills or feeling feverish
Loss of taste or smell
Runny nose / Congestion
Muscle / Body aches or pain
Vomiting / nausea
Feeling extremely tired
Anyone experiencing any major COVID symptom that lasts 24 hrs or longer must have a negative PCR COVID test to return to school or they will need to stay home for 10 days.
Anyone experiencing any other COVID-like symptoms (minor symptoms) that 48 hrs or longer must have a negative PCR COVID test to return to school or they will need to stay home for 10 days.
Antigen or antibody tests are not accepted as a negative test if your student had or is having symptoms.
Parents MUST report a positive test result to the school. If your student has tested positive or been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID within the last 10 days please contact the school to determine if they need to quarantine at home and/or need a COVID test to return.
There are a number of resources available to help guide you when your student is sick.
