NEW Community Recall Election Communication from Board President
Dear Peak to Peak Community,
On behalf of the board and leadership team I would like to thank our community for all the engagement and support you have given our school this year. It was an extraordinarily difficult year for our students, parents, our teachers, our staff and administrators, our board, and the extended community. Given the magnitude of obstacles we had to navigate, with no solutions that were going to satisfy all the conflicting needs and demands of our community, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude for the patience and grace that our community found when we engaged in difficult conversations. Going forward, I am sure we will make great strides and gain from these experiences.
Before we all check out for the summer, there are some important areas where we need the community to stay engaged. Peak to Peak has launched a special election process that is required by our bylaws, based on a petition to recall current board member Mr. Ari Axelrod. This election will greatly impact the work of our board of directors as we transition into the summer and prepare for the Fall of 2021/22. I ask that you please pay attention to these timelines and exercise your privilege to vote. Here is a link to my letter that explains how this recall process works at Peak to Peak.
Here are the timelines for the recall process.

Please also see the below article in this digest from the Elections Committee for details on the Call for Candidates.
Your Board President, Colleen Elliott
NEW A Message from the 2021 Recall Elections Committee: Call for Candidates - One Potential Open Board Seat
There will potentially be ONE OPEN SEAT with a 2-year term for an elected board member. A recall election will be held from June 4, 2021 - June 10, 2021 at which time Community Members will also vote for a replacement candidate to fill the board seat should the recall be successful. If the recall is successful, the highest vote getter will fill the seat for the remainder of the recalled director’s 2-year term, but will be seated immediately and finish the last days of the current fiscal year (the term will be June 11, 2021- June 20, 2023). All non-employee school and local community members are encouraged to consider serving on the board. Any candidate for the Peak to Peak Board of Directors, in order to have his or her name placed on the ballot, must deliver a signed Peak to Peak Board Handbook form at the time of his or her candidacy submission, which constitutes an agreement to abide by the Board Orientation/Training requirements and board expectations in general as outlined in the Board Handbook. The Board Handbook will be sent for review to any candidate who is interested in possible candidacy. REMINDER: Candidates who are elected will no longer receive automatic enrollment for their students.
Once you have decided to run for a board seat, you must formally declare your candidacy by submitting to firstname.lastname@example.org written responses to THESE BOD CANDIDATE QUESTIONS by Monday, May 31, 2021, 12:00 PM. A preliminary candidate list will be published to all of the candidates after the candidacy deadline. Candidates will then have the opportunity to withdraw from the election if they change their mind about running, or they may make any edits to their responses by Tuesday, June 1, 2021 12:00 PM. Responses from the candidates who wish to remain in the election will be published to our community on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 3:00 PM. Please see the below Election Guidelines information sheet for election information, timeline, and campaign guidelines. Please contact Traci Schoeneweis at email@example.com with questions.

NEW Changes to the Peak to Peak Website
This summer, the Peak to Peak website will be getting a make-over. There will be new a new homepage layout and the colors and images will be refreshed. This is a relatively straightforward update to the look and feel of the website that is being driven by a change in the template that we use. The template we are currently using is being discontinued, so we are taking this opportunity to select a new template for a new year and a fresh new look. The platform, basic architecture behind the site, and vendor are all the same. User logins will remain the same. The tabs and content will remain basically the same. As is done every summer, there will be some minor updates to the content based on feedback from you, as well as user and click analytics. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Communications Director, Jen Dauzvardis (firstname.lastname@example.org)
NEW Food Services Survey
We are starting to plan for our new 9-week cycle menu for the 2021/2022 school year. We would like your suggestions and your input in planning for the upcoming school year. We value your input and thoughts on what is great about our program and what changes you would like to see.
Our Mission: Food Services strives to offer students multiple choices of healthy and flavorful foods to nourish their bodies and energize their minds. The food services program also is committed to cultivating a warm and welcoming community where every student is known, respected, and valued. Based on your feedback, we may add new entrees and drop menu items that are less popular. Your ideas and suggestions are always welcome. This survey is including all parents/guardians, our secondary student population, teacher/staff, and administration. Please complete this survey by Friday, June 4, 2021: FOOD SERVICES SURVEY Thank you!

We know that the COVID-19 pandemic will be an ongoing challenge. The relieving news is that we are positioned to more safely return to a normal school year starting in August. Volunteer Process & Training: We will continue to request fingerprints from anyone who intends to volunteer more than once during the school year. If you had your fingerprints done previously and completed the volunteer form then you do not need to complete any volunteer paperwork this year! Please contact Traci Schoeneweis or 303-453-4682 to verify your volunteer status if you are unsure. If you only intend to volunteer once then you will be required to do the background check (not fingerprints) and the volunteer form each year. Please follow this link to print them: Volunteer Information. Volunteer training is online. Anyone that is new to the school needs to view this before volunteering. If you have previously attended or taken the volunteer training you do not need to do it again. It’s a good idea for returning volunteers to view this as well. Follow this link Volunteer Training to view the information. It can also be found on the volunteer page of the school website.
