NEW!  Board of Directors Resignation Announcement

Dear Peak to Peak Community,

The Board of Directors has accepted Marleene Buttice's resignation from the Board, effective November 10, 2021. Please see the note below from Marleene that explains her reasons for this choice.  We appreciate Marleene's deliberation regarding this decision, and we are grateful for her interest and willingness to continue to support the P2P community.  We will discuss the plans for this open board seat in our board meeting next week.  Please reach out to any of us with questions about this process.

Sincerely,

Your Board of Directors

_____________________________________

Dear Board of Directors and Peak to Peak Community,

We are all well aware that life does not always go as planned, with opportunities and challenges rising without notice. A fork in the road recently appeared before me and I would like to share which direction I have chosen.

After deep consideration, I have decided to apply for the Peak to Peak Executive Director of Education position that will come available at the end of the school year.  I am excited by the potential to serve the Peak to Peak community in an ever greater capacity than my current role and believe that I have a unique skill set that could serve this community in the years to come.  Given that the Board of Directors will be instrumental in filling this position, my continued membership on the board would be a conflict of interest.  As such, I am resigning before discussions about the recruitment process begin.

This was a difficult decision because I enjoy working with you, for the community, and value the board's work.  I am grateful that I had the opportunity to be a member these past few months.  While I wish I could complete my full term, maintaining the integrity of the hiring process is of utmost importance.  Despite my resignation, I commit to continuing to support the Peak to Peak community in any way I can throughout my application process.

If you have any questions or would like clarification about my decision, please feel free to reach me at marleene.buttice@gmail.com.

Sincerely,

Marleene Buttice
(she/her/hers)

NEW! Peak Annual Fund  Update

Every year families ask us "where does my donation money go?"  This is a great question that we are always very happy to answer because it is very important that all our families know and understand our school's financial model. Please take a moment to read this story about why each family's participation in the Peak Annual Fund is so important each year, and what your donation helps fund.  Did you know our school operates on approximately $1,000 less per student every year than other traditional public schools?  At Peak to Peak, our teachers do more, with less, and every donation matters -  with participation mattering most. As always, THANK YOU to everyone who has made a one-time donation or set up a monthly recurring contribution at many different dollar amounts - each one is greatly appreciated.  As always, please reach out to our family ambassadors listed here with any questions.

Volunteer Needs

  • Volunteers needed for Music performances:  We are seeking 4 parent volunteers to help with a student concert we have on Tuesday, Dec. 7th from 5:15 - 7:45.  The volunteers will be supervising students in breakout room mini-concerts in the band, orchestra, choir, and BAASC room as they set up and then perform.
  • Health Room:  Seeking a volunteer to help in the health room, no experience necessary and training will be provided.  Contact Traci Schoeneweis

Volunteer Information

Once on-site volunteering resumes, we will continue to request fingerprints from anyone who intends to volunteer more than once during the school year.  If you had your fingerprints done previously and completed our volunteer waiver and release form then you do not need to complete any volunteer paperwork this year!  Please make sure you have a photo volunteer ID card with a barcode on the back.  If you do not have a photo ID card please stop by the Volunteer Station at registration or contact the office staff.  Please contact Traci Schoeneweis or 303-453-4682 to verify your volunteer status if you are unsure.

If you only intend to volunteer once then you will be required to do the background check (not fingerprints) and the volunteer waiver and release form each year.  You will be given a one-time volunteer ticket to turn in when you volunteer the one time.  Please follow this link to print them or pick them up at registration:  Volunteer Information

Volunteer training is online.  Anyone that is new to the school needs to view this before volunteering.  If you have previously attended or taken the volunteer training you do not need to do it again.  It’s a good idea for returning volunteers to view this as well for a refresher on protocols.  Follow this link Volunteer Training to view the information.  It can also be found on the volunteer page of the school website.

Enter Volunteer Hours from Home:  Thank you for helping us track your hours for our records!  See this training on how to enter volunteer hours from home.

Your Volunteer Team would love to hear from you. If you have any interest in volunteering for anything at all but do not know where to start please email either Allie Cross or Rachel Hirt, Volunteer Coordinators.  They would love to meet you!
