NEW!  Opportunities to Provide Input on the Leadership Hire

The board sent this email to all community members earlier today, outlining the steps in the leadership transition process over the next 6 weeks. As mentioned in that email, we are launching multiple ways to ask for your feedback in this process:
  1. Please complete this survey in the next 2 weeks.  The purpose of this survey is to gather your feedback on the priorities for the school over the next few years, and the leadership capabilities we need to accomplish them. This survey will be available until December 3.
  2. We will hold community sessions so you can share your answers to these questions in person with board members on Tuesday, November 30th at 3:30 PM and on Thursday, December 2nd at 8:15 AM.  These sessions will be held in the Middle School playground/table area, which is on the east side of the cafeteria building, just outside the back doors.  These are informal sessions, to provide the chance for board members to listen to the feedback from the community. Please dress warmly if needed, as we plan to be outside.
  3. BOD members will participate in the ES, MS, and HS staff level meetings on Friday, December 3rd, to provide the chance to hear feedback and questions directly from staff.

Thank you for taking this time!  As we head out on our Thanksgiving holiday break, we want to express our gratitude for our teachers, staff, admin, parents/guardians, and of course our students, who make our Peak to Peak community such a special place.  We are grateful for all that you each give every day, and we wish you all a restful break!

Warmest regards,

Your Board of Directors

NEW! Peak Annual Fund Update - Colorado Gives Day is December 7th!

We are thrilled to partner again with other local charities during Colorado Gives Day ~ (Colorado’s state-wide giving day) on Tuesday, December 7th.   Historically this has been Peak to Peak's largest giving day of the year to support the Peak Annual Fund and annual operating budget.  For those of you who have not yet given to the Peak Annual Fund, Colorado Gives Day is a great day to do it as a % of each donation is eligible for a % of the Community First Foundation's one million dollar incentive fund.  Donations to Peak to Peak through Colorado Gives can be scheduled at any time.  For more information on fundraising and the Peak Annual Fund, please visit our giving site.  Thank you to all our Puma families who have contributed so far.

NEW!  Safety Drill Practiced Today

Safety is our primary concern for all of our students and staff, so we wanted to let you know that we practiced a fire drill this morning on campus.  We are mandated by BVSD to practice monthly safety drills with our staff and students.  There was no danger or threat on campus and the drill was only practice.  Thank you everyone.

NEW! BVSD Health Reporting over the Holiday Break

  • If over the break your student receives a positive COVID test, please remember they must remain home in isolation for 10 days and follow these instructions:  How to Isolate
  • If you are notified of a COVID exposure, your student should quarantine at least 7 days, as per these instructions:  How to Quarantine
  • Use the COVID Reporting Form to report cases or quarantines during the break and contact your student’s school on Monday, November 29th for additional information or instructions on when your student may return to school.

NEW!  Student COVID Vaccine Records can be Voluntarily Sent to Health Room

We encourage you to share your student COVID vaccination records with us voluntarily and will record them in IC with your student's other vaccinations.  COVID vaccination is not required to attend school in BVSD and sharing your vaccination status is voluntary.  If your student has been vaccinated for COVID and you would like us to have a copy of the vaccine record you can email it to our Health Room at p2p.healthroom@bvsd.org.  Again, this request is voluntary and not required.

NEW! Curriculum Proposal

It is our process to invite our school community to provide feedback on proposed new curriculum. We are asking our community for input, not votes, as teachers prepared these derived from student interests, etc.  Below you will find a link to a new curriculum proposal. If you have any feedback on the below new proposals please email Traci Schoeneweis by Friday, December 3, 2021, 3:00 PM. All comments will be sent to the Curriculum Committee. Thank you.

Click here to read the current issue, or you can visit the Alumni page of the website to read past issues. We encourage you to share this digital magazine with other alumni and alumni families that you know.

  • Cough
  • Chills or feeling feverish
  • Shortness of Breath
  • Loss of taste or smell

Minor Symptoms that last longer than 48hrs:

  • Runny nose or Congestion
  • Sore Throat
  • Headache
  • Muscle / Body aches or pain
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting / Nausea
  • Feeling extremely tired
  • Anyone experiencing any other COVID-like symptoms (minor symptoms) that last longer than 48 hrs must have a negative PCR COVID test to return to school or they will need to stay home for 10 days.

Testing is available through BVSD and COVID Check Colorado throughout the district - see the schedule here.  If your child has been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID within the last 10 days please contact your school to determine if they need to quarantine at home and/or need a COVID test to return.  If you have questions about returning to school/work after an illness, please contact our Health Room.

“Come one, come ALL!”  We are thrilled to officially announce and welcome all our community members to our annual Peak Gala "Cirque Du Peak!"  In case you missed yesterday's "theme reveal" during pick-up, this fun vintage carnival theme will be perfect for our goal to bring our community back together at this annual event on March 11, 2022, at the Omni Hotel in Broomfield.  Guests will enjoy participating in a festive midway vintage carnival of games and activities ~ providing a great opportunity to mingle with other Puma families in a relaxed setting.  We will have our online auction, seated dinner, and other fun events planned for that evening.  Early bird tickets will go on sale on December 15th. All community members are invited to stop by our gala kick-off which will be our first in-person ticket purchase opportunity and committee meet-and-greet at Tilt arcade in Louisville on Thursday, January 6th.  This year's gala committee is looking forward to sharing more details about this year’s gala in the weeks to come.

Volunteer Needs

  • Gift wrapping for our P2P staff:  We are excited to once again offer the P2P staff a free gift wrapping event!  We are seeking volunteers to adopt staff and wrap gifts for them and donations of wrapping paper, boxes, tape and gift bags (birthday, holiday, generic).  Please sign up using this link and contact Lindsay Wright with questions.  Wrapping donations can be placed in the bin in the main entrance.
  • Volunteers needed for Music performances:  We are seeking 4 parent volunteers to help with a student concert we have on Tuesday, Dec. 7th from 5:15 - 7:45.  The volunteers will be supervising students in breakout room mini-concerts in the band, orchestra, choir, and BAASC room as they set up and then perform.
  • Health Room:  Seeking a volunteer to help in the health room, no experience necessary and training will be provided.  Contact Traci Schoeneweis

Volunteer Information

Once on-site volunteering resumes, we will continue to request fingerprints from anyone who intends to volunteer more than once during the school year.  If you had your fingerprints done previously and completed our volunteer waiver and release form then you do not need to complete any volunteer paperwork this year!  Please make sure you have a photo volunteer ID card with a barcode on the back.  If you do not have a photo ID card please stop by the Volunteer Station at registration or contact the office staff.  Please contact Traci Schoeneweis or 303-453-4682 to verify your volunteer status if you are unsure.

If you only intend to volunteer once then you will be required to do the background check (not fingerprints) and the volunteer waiver and release form each year.  You will be given a one-time volunteer ticket to turn in when you volunteer the one time.  Please follow this link to print them or pick them up at registration:  Volunteer Information

Volunteer training is online.  Anyone that is new to the school needs to view this before volunteering.  If you have previously attended or taken the volunteer training you do not need to do it again.  It’s a good idea for returning volunteers to view this as well for a refresher on protocols.  Follow this link Volunteer Training to view the information.  It can also be found on the volunteer page of the school website.

Enter Volunteer Hours from Home:  Thank you for helping us track your hours for our records!  See this training on how to enter volunteer hours from home.

Your Volunteer Team would love to hear from you. If you have any interest in volunteering for anything at all but do not know where to start please email either Allie Cross or Rachel Hirt, Volunteer Coordinators.  They would love to meet you!
