NEW!  Procedures for Picking Students Up Early

If it is necessary to pick up a student early from school please follow the following procedures:
  • Please do not call in advance to pick up a student.  We will only call students down when you arrive.
  • Pick up between 2:30-3:00 PM can be difficult as that is a very busy time for attendance.  Please consider coming outside of that time.
  • All parents/guardians must come to the attendance window in the south building to sign out a student unless the student can drive themself.  A parent/guardian must bring their ID to the attendance window.  If the student can drive themself then a phone call from a parent/guardian is acceptable.
  • Give yourself extra time.  Sometimes it can take a few minutes for the student to get to the office due to exams, specials, lunch, outside movement breaks, etc.

Thank you for your help and cooperation.

NEW! P2P Community:  Traffic Alert -- Please Be Safe and Be Good Neighbors!

Dear Peak to Peak Families,

Heavy traffic in and around Peak to Peak’s campus is an issue that requires our ongoing attention as a school community. Recently, Lafayette Police Department has been fielding pointed and angry complaints from our neighbors about traffic congestion at the intersection of Merlin and Spaulding Drives, especially in the afternoons. While our neighbors understand that traffic will necessarily increase while students are coming and going from school each day, there are things we can do to help alleviate the problems that are currently happening:

  1. To reduce the number of cars on our campus, please carpool. If you need help connecting with other families to arrange carpools, please contact the front office (303-453-4601).
  2. Please observe established traffic patterns and keep moving as quickly and as safely as possible. Do not park or wait in areas where traffic flows are designed to keep moving.
  3. Do not block access to the RTD bus stop or our neighbors’ driveways around the intersection of Merlin and Spaulding Drives in front of the school.

In short, please obey all traffic laws and be considerate of our neighbors. The safety of our students and families is our number one priority. It is our collective responsibility to prevent accidents and to be good neighbors. Officers from the Lafayette Police Department are highly concerned about these issues and will ticket drivers in order to keep everyone as safe as possible.

Thank you for your attention to these serious issues,

Kelly Reeser, Executive Director of Education

NEW! Pumas for the Planet  Award

The Pumas for the Planet Award provides semester recognition for one student in our community, K-12, who strives to make a difference for the environment and the natural world. Reasons to nominate a student are many; celebrating a connection to the natural world, service work for the environment, raising awareness at school about recycling and compost, volunteering at an animal shelter or other organization, and many more! Once the submissions are received, members of the Peak to Peak Wellness Council will review and present the award to the winning student once per quarter. Each winner will be highlighted in the Peak to Peak newsletter and on the school website and Facebook pages. Additionally, each winner will receive a special eco-friendly prize and a certificate. Submissions can be made by parents, teachers, mentors, or friends.

To submit a nomination, please email Mrs. Monika Bunting (monika.bunting@bvsd.org) with the following information.

Volunteer Information

Once on-site volunteering resumes, we will continue to request fingerprints from anyone who intends to volunteer more than once during the school year.  If you had your fingerprints done previously and completed our volunteer waiver and release form then you do not need to complete any volunteer paperwork this year!  Please make sure you have a photo volunteer ID card with a barcode on the back.  If you do not have a photo ID card please stop by the Volunteer Station at registration or contact the office staff.  Please contact Traci Schoeneweis or 303-453-4682 to verify your volunteer status if you are unsure.

If you only intend to volunteer once then you will be required to do the background check (not fingerprints) and the volunteer waiver and release form each year.  You will be given a one-time volunteer ticket to turn in when you volunteer the one time.  Please follow this link to print them or pick them up at registration:  Volunteer Information

Volunteer training is online.  Anyone that is new to the school needs to view this before volunteering.  If you have previously attended or taken the volunteer training you do not need to do it again.  It’s a good idea for returning volunteers to view this as well for a refresher on protocols.  Follow this link Volunteer Training to view the information.  It can also be found on the volunteer page of the school website.

Enter Volunteer Hours from Home:  Thank you for helping us track your hours for our records!  See this training on how to enter volunteer hours from home.

Your Volunteer Team would love to hear from you. If you have any interest in volunteering for anything at all but do not know where to start please email either Allie Cross or Rachel Hirt, Volunteer Coordinators.  They would love to meet you!
