NEW! 2022-2023 Yearly Calendar with Minor Adjustments

Last week the Board of Directors approved our K-12 calendar for the 2022-2023 school year.  The calendar will NOT have late starts for elementary, but it will have early releases for all students in grades K-12. Elementary will have an early release time of 12:50 PM and secondary at 1:00 PM on those days.  Here are the minor adjustments that have been made to the calendar for next year:
  1. The early releases are for all students not just secondary.  That was an error on the first version and apologize for the mistake.
  2. In order to help with traffic congestion during early releases, elementary will dismiss at 12:50 PM and secondary will dismiss at 1:00 PM.
  3. Conferences have now been highlighted in two different colors.  There is no school for elementary students only on elementary conference days.  Secondary students have school on secondary conference days.

Please see THIS updated calendar that reflects the above information.

NEW!  Lost and Found

Peak to Peak's lost and found items are located on the first-floor hallway of the south building just outside of the health room. Due to space constraints, items are donated at the end of each month. If your student is missing an item, we invite you to look through the items during school business hours.   Please check for any lost items in March by 3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 30th.

Regarding lost and found, we have many valuable items located in our main office safe including glasses, watches, AirPods, and keys. If your student is missing anything of value, please have them check in the main office in the south building.

NEW! HS Principal Article April Schedule for Digest 3.18.22

Dear High School Students, Parents, and Families:

Welcome to spring. It’s hard to believe but we’re heading toward the finish line of a very busy year. It’s been incredible being back in person and having students full-time on campus. Following spring break, heads up, we have less than two months to go! We are counting down two weeks until PSAT and SAT testing, three weeks to CMAS science tests for juniors, a month away from Prom at the Chateaux, and then just another week thereafter for the launch of Advanced Placement exams. If you want to hear more about what’s on the horizon through the end of the semester, please read on.

My sincere thanks for helping our Friends office and K-12 volunteers and staff with the annual gala auction and support for our innovation fund. Thank you for supporting our staff and school! We’ve got more to come, including the high school Trivia Night, our annual class competition, “Rise for the Peak,” and more so buckle up and get your Google or iCals ready.  Here goes...please click HS April Schedule to read the entire article.

Sign In and Out Procedures Changing After Spring Break

Beginning Monday, March 28th, high school students will be able to sign in, sign out, and get tardy passes all day at the Hub window.  They no longer have to come to the main office in the south building. If a parent/guardian needs a high school student dismissed early they should also go to the Hub. Students in grade K-8 will continue to come to the main office window in the south lobby.  If a parent/guardian needs to pick up students in high school in addition to another grade level, they should come to the main office in the south building and no need to go to the Hub.

Volunteer Needs

  • 7th Grade Field Trip:  We are seeking volunteers for the 7th-grade field event on Wednesday, April 6th, 2022.  Please contact Victoria Hankey, MS assistant principal, or add your name and email address to this spreadsheet: Volunteers-7th Grade Field Event

  • After Prom Volunteers Needed:  We are seeking community volunteers to organize Peak to Peak's after-prom on April 29th. The long-standing tradition of creating a safe, fun location for students to celebrate into the wee hours of the night after the formality of prom is in need of a team of volunteers. Responsibilities include the organization of logistics and working in conjunction with high school administration and student council. If you are interested in helping please contact our student council sponsor Andy Shedd @ sandra.shedd@bvsd.org.
  • P2P Learning Garden Volunteer Lead:  Peak to Peak is looking for a new garden lead volunteer for our beautiful P2P K-12 Learning Garden! This position entails working alongside another garden lead parent, and other parent volunteers to establish the garden in the spring and maintain it until the winter.  Responsibilities include coordinating volunteer efforts throughout the school year/summer and a few other garden fundraising efforts throughout the school year. This is a really fun way to get outside, get your hands in the dirt, work alongside teachers & kids, and get our entire community excited about our learning garden!  ***There will also be a School Garden training opportunity available in March for interested volunteers.  This will be hosted by Garden to Table, and it is a wonderful chance to dive right into all the basics of school gardening! Please reach out to P2P Parent Annie Sasseville at anniesasseville@yahoo.com or Rachel Hirt at p2p.friends@bvsd.org if interested.

Volunteer Information

Once on-site volunteering resumes, we will continue to request fingerprints from anyone who intends to volunteer more than once during the school year.  If you had your fingerprints done previously and completed our volunteer waiver and release form then you do not need to complete any volunteer paperwork this year!  Please make sure you have a photo volunteer ID card with a barcode on the back.  If you do not have a photo ID card please stop by the Volunteer Station at registration or contact the office staff.  Please contact Traci Schoeneweis or 303-453-4682 to verify your volunteer status if you are unsure.

If you only intend to volunteer once then you will be required to do the background check (not fingerprints) and the volunteer waiver and release form each year.  You will be given a one-time volunteer ticket to turn in when you volunteer the one time.  Please follow this link to print them or pick them up at registration:  Volunteer Information

Volunteer training is online.  Anyone that is new to the school needs to view this before volunteering.  If you have previously attended or taken the volunteer training you do not need to do it again.  It’s a good idea for returning volunteers to view this as well for a refresher on protocols.  Follow this link Volunteer Training to view the information.  It can also be found on the volunteer page of the school website.

Enter Volunteer Hours from Home:  Thank you for helping us track your hours for our records!  See this training on how to enter volunteer hours from home.

Your Volunteer Team would love to hear from you. If you have any interest in volunteering for anything at all but do not know where to start please email either Allie Cross or Rachel Hirt, Volunteer Coordinators.  They would love to meet you!
