NEW! New Executive Director of Education

The Peak to Peak Board of Directors is thrilled to announce the Executive Director of Education (EDE) role has been offered and accepted by Ms. Jennifer (Jennie) Klein.

Ms. Klein is a dedicated educational professional with extensive experience in improving staff and student performance through exceptional leadership. She is a compassionate leader who has driven large-scale community engagement and professional development initiatives within several districts. She has expertise in allocating resources, providing teacher and pupil support, and encouraging continuous growth through effective communication.

The hiring process included more than seventy applicants.  Our diverse search committee carefully screened application materials including a resume, letter of interest, and statement of educational philosophy. Nine semifinalists completed three one-hour interviews focused on academic, cultural, and external leadership. Finally, three finalists spent an entire day on campus meeting with staff, students, leaders, and board members.

Ms. Klein met and exceeded the community’s rigorous criteria. Her student-centered and relationship-oriented leadership qualities reflect a collaborative approach with warm authenticity that compliments our high-performing teams. Ms. Klein’s leadership style strongly aligns with our school’s vision and mission of excellence in education. Her demonstrated experience in equity work contributes to maintaining rigor in academics and creating a welcoming and supportive culture that empowers every student to succeed in attending their best-fit college.

While Ms. Klein will officially start her work for us in July, we are working on a schedule to bring Ms. Klein occasionally on campus throughout the remainder of the school year. This should provide some opportunities for her to meet our awesome students, staff, and community at various events and to collaborate in the transition process with Ms. Reeser. Please give Ms. Klein a warm Puma welcome if you see her on campus!

NEW! After Prom Needs

Dear P2P Junior and Senior Parents & Guardians,

Each year a group of parent/guardian volunteers assists our high school student council in organizing an After Prom event to provide a fun and safe activity after Prom ends at 11 :00 PM.  This year’s prom is being held Friday, April 29th and our After Prom event will be at Chippers in Broomfield from 11:00 PM-2:00 AM.  This year’s event will include music, bowling, laser tag, arcade games, pizza, and fun with classmates.

Part of our After Prom fun is a “staggered raffle” which encourages students to stay at the event and win prizes. Raffle tickets are free and all attending students are entered to win. Each year we ask our community to help provide prizes for this raffle. Please consider donating a prize (or a monetary donation of any amount for us to purchase prizes) to help with our goal of each guest receiving a prize.  Please drop off all donations to Ms. Osmer in the Hub.

Thank you for considering the following:

  • Donate gift card(s):  Consider donating any unused your or family members may already have around the house! If you are able to purchase a gift card, some popular options are (Starbucks, Target, local restaurants, clothing stores, electronics, iphone, itunes, anything an older high school/future college student would like!). Gift cards can be dropped off anytime in the HUB (High School main office)
  • Donate money: Donations of ANY amount will be used to purchase prizes.  We will look for business donations and sale items whenever possible to stretch our available funds. Donations can be made here and will directly support 2022 After Prom prizes.
  • Donate a physical item: Items that have been donated in past years have included small TVs, dorm-appropriate appliances, baskets of snacks, airpods, etc. Please email Michele Pierce at mgpierce30@gmail.com to arrange pick up/drop off.

We are also looking for volunteers to help chaperone, serve food and assist with activities that evening.  Please sign up here if you are able to help!   Thank you in advance for your support in helping create this fun and safe event for our Pumas!

Sincerely,

Michele Pierce, P2P Parent After Prom Volunteer, mgpierce30@gmail.com

NEW! *** MARK YOUR CALENDARS - Run for the Peak is Friday, May 13th! ***

Due to scheduling conflicts and testing schedules, our annual Elementary and Middle School Run for the Peak will now be Friday, May 13th (instead of May 6) while our High School Students will be participating in their annual "Rise for the Peak" on Friday, April 15th. During this fun Peak to Peak tradition, elementary and middle school students learn the importance of wellness and goal setting as they participate in a 20-minute fun walk/run on the Peak to Peak turf field.  We invite all community members (including external family and friends) to join us in helping raise funds to help reduce Peak to Peak’s approximate $1,000 per student funding gap while providing our teachers with the resources they need to continue providing exemplary education to all of our K-12 students. Grade level and individual prizes are awarded for fundraising efforts and for displaying important P2P character traits like teamwork and perseverance during this fun event. To be eligible for individual and grade-level prizes (Menchies party with Pete!) donations must be made between Friday, April 22nd - and Sunday, May 15th. More information will be coming home soon, including opportunities to win a reserved parking spot for the 2022-2023 school year.

NEW! King Soopers and Amazon Smile Reminder

A friendly reminder to make sure your King Soopers phone number is linked to Friends of Peak to Peak. We depend on our community's participation in this program that provides over $20,000 to our school each year.  Thank you for taking a minute to link your information which you only have to enter one time.  Also, thank you for taking time to double-check your Amazon page is set up to Amazon Smile (Friends of Peak to Peak).  It's fun to check out what your contributions to Peak to Peak have been through your Amazon.com/smile page by selecting the "supporting" drop-down on the left-hand side, look for "Generated by you". How much has your family generated?

Monthly Volunteer Meeting

Please join us for our April volunteer meeting.  Tuesday, April 12th at 2:00 PM outside of the LMC building.  We have some great events coming up and welcome volunteers back on campus.

Volunteer Needs

  • After Prom Volunteers Needed:  We are seeking community volunteers to organize Peak to Peak's after-prom on April 29th. The long-standing tradition of creating a safe, fun location for students to celebrate into the wee hours of the night after the formality of prom is in need of a team of volunteers. Responsibilities include the organization of logistics and working in conjunction with high school administration and student council. If you are interested in helping please contact our student council sponsor Andy Shedd @ sandra.shedd@bvsd.org.

Volunteer Information

Once on-site volunteering resumes, we will continue to request fingerprints from anyone who intends to volunteer more than once during the school year.  If you had your fingerprints done previously and completed our volunteer waiver and release form then you do not need to complete any volunteer paperwork this year!  Please make sure you have a photo volunteer ID card with a barcode on the back.  If you do not have a photo ID card please stop by the Volunteer Station at registration or contact the office staff.  Please contact Traci Schoeneweis or 303-453-4682 to verify your volunteer status if you are unsure.

If you only intend to volunteer once then you will be required to do the background check (not fingerprints) and the volunteer waiver and release form each year.  You will be given a one-time volunteer ticket to turn in when you volunteer the one time.  Please follow this link to print them or pick them up at registration:  Volunteer Information

Volunteer training is online.  Anyone that is new to the school needs to view this before volunteering.  If you have previously attended or taken the volunteer training you do not need to do it again.  It’s a good idea for returning volunteers to view this as well for a refresher on protocols.  Follow this link Volunteer Training to view the information.  It can also be found on the volunteer page of the school website.

Enter Volunteer Hours from Home:  Thank you for helping us track your hours for our records!  See this training on how to enter volunteer hours from home.

Your Volunteer Team would love to hear from you. If you have any interest in volunteering for anything at all but do not know where to start please email either Allie Cross or Rachel Hirt, Volunteer Coordinators.  They would love to meet you!
