NEW! K-12 Annual Spring Service Project Monday 4/25 through Friday 4/29

Attention all P2P community!  Each year, the Peak to Peak K-12 community organizes a school-wide service project. This year, our service project will raise money for three local organizations: Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation, Longmont Humane Society, and Rezdawg Rescue.  This is the first time our service project has focused on animals, both wild and domestic. Additionally, students and families are invited to participate in several contests, generating excitement and community at all levels.

The service project will take place from Monday, April 25 through Friday, April 29. Links to donate directly to these three local and inspiring organizations will be on our website, in the digest, and on our social media sites.

NEW! Having Trouble Reading the Digest on Your Phone? Try These Options!
Each week, we email the digest using the tools available to make it accessible on a variety of services. However, we know that not all technology is perfectly compatible. Not all email apps can interpret the responsive tools we use to create the digest. That's why we provide several different ways for you to access and read the digest. If you like to read the digest on your phone, try one of these options:
  • Read the digest on the Peak to Peak website: It is posted in a weekly archive and the screen adapts to your phone. Find it here or through the link on the bottom of the website homepage.
  • Read the digest on the Peak to Peak mobile app: Each article from the weekly digest is individually loaded to the relevant pages on the website, which in turn, populate the mobile app. K-12 News and Volunteer opportunities are posted on the home page. School Level and Secondary news items are posted to the corresponding school level pages. Friends and Athletics news items are posted to their respective pages. You can even customize the mobile app to read the sections that matter most to you! Use these links to access the Apple and Android versions of the app.
Another tool available to you on both the website and on the mobile app is called the Activity Stream. You can select your preferred pages and calendars and get a personalized "stream" of digest articles, news items, calendar events, etc. Click here to watch a video and learn more about the Activity Stream.

NEW!  End-of-Year Reminders
As we approach the end of the school year, here are a couple of reminders from our registrar:
  • End of Year Withdrawals/Transfers:  We ask ALL students that will be transferring to a different school for the next school year, even those that have gone through open enrollment to attend another BVSD school, to formally withdraw.  This just means complete and return our withdrawal form, turn in  Peak to Peak materials, and clear all accounts.  Please  touch base with our bookkeeper to clear accounts, amy.skinner@bvsd.org , return all checked out materials, (library books, uniforms, classroom materials, etc.), close lunch accounts, and clean out lockers.  Once done please email completed withdrawal forms to our registrar, vicki.lundquist@bvsd.org .  The withdrawal form is HERE.
  • Final Report Cards:  Once grades are finalized for the current school year, which is about two weeks after the last day of school, please visit your Parent Portal and PRINT your students report card for your records.  It will only be available until the new school year becomes active.  This is for all students K-12.  For our drivers, this is what the insurance company will require for good driver discounts.

NEW! Middle School Information and Upcoming Events
Dear Middle School Students and Families,

Welcome to spring as we head into the final lap of a productive and celebratory year of learning! We would first like to thank each student who gave their best to our CMAS testing this week, as well as the adults we know support these efforts from home. Assessment results serve as a measurement for our staff and leadership team to monitor our progress under our mission and vision as a school. CMAS testing, in particular, serves as an accreditation requirement for all public schools to gauge and measure achievement over time. We look forward to assessing the results so we can adjust our instructional programming and delivery in order to meet or exceed expectations each year. As a special moment of gratitude for our middle schoolers efforts this week, 8th grade House Reveur hosted an ice cream social for each grade level after testing this Thursday. There was much connection and laughter to be had, and we thank our 8th grade student leaders who hosted this fun-filled event.

As we return to a normal class schedule next week, we want to ensure our students and families are aware of the events and celebrations ahead...please click MS Information and Events to read the entire article.

NEW! High School Production of Living Dead in Denmark
Peak to Peak’s High School Production of LIVING DEAD IN DENMARK opens Thursday, April 21st! LIVING DEAD IN DENMARK is an action-adventure/horror sequel to William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Set five years after the events of the original, the undead have risen to power and are trying to take over the world, led by the zombie lord and true king of Denmark. Support our cast and crew of over 45 students. Student tickets are $5. General Admission is $7 and faculty and staff are free! There are 4 performances Thursday, April 21st, Friday, April 22nd, and Saturday, April 23rd at 7:00 PM plus a 2:00 PM show on Saturday as well. All are welcome but this show has a PG-13 rating due to some mild language, fight sequences, and use of fake blood.

After Prom Needs

Dear P2P Junior and Senior Parents & Guardians,

Each year a group of parent/guardian volunteers assists our high school student council in organizing an After Prom event to provide a fun and safe activity after Prom ends at 11 :00 PM.  This year’s prom is being held Friday, April 29th and our After Prom event will be at Chippers in Broomfield from 11:00 PM-2:00 AM.  This year’s event will include music, bowling, laser tag, arcade games, pizza, and fun with classmates.

Part of our After Prom fun is a “staggered raffle” which encourages students to stay at the event and win prizes. Raffle tickets are free and all attending students are entered to win. Each year we ask our community to help provide prizes for this raffle. Please consider donating a prize (or a monetary donation of any amount for us to purchase prizes) to help with our goal of each guest receiving a prize.  Please drop off all donations to Ms. Osmer in the Hub.

Thank you for considering the following:

  • Donate gift card(s):  Consider donating any unused your or family members may already have around the house! If you are able to purchase a gift card, some popular options are (Starbucks, Target, local restaurants, clothing stores, electronics, iphone, itunes, anything an older high school/future college student would like!). Gift cards can be dropped off anytime in the HUB (High School main office)
  • Donate money: Donations of ANY amount will be used to purchase prizes.  We will look for business donations and sale items whenever possible to stretch our available funds. Donations can be made here and will directly support 2022 After Prom prizes.
  • Donate a physical item: Items that have been donated in past years have included small TVs, dorm-appropriate appliances, baskets of snacks, airpods, etc. Please email Michele Pierce at mgpierce30@gmail.com to arrange pick up/drop off.

We are also looking for volunteers to help chaperone, serve food and assist with activities that evening.  Please sign up here if you are able to help!   Thank you in advance for your support in helping create this fun and safe event for our Pumas!

New! New Family Welcome Team!

Each year we seek interested Peak to Peak families to volunteer for our new family mentor welcome team. This important tradition serves to ensure all families starting at Peak to Peak next fall receive a warm welcome from our community and have (at least) one contact they can reach out to with any questions about Peak to Peak. Are you interested in serving as a new family mentor? Please fill out this form and we will contact you with more information. As a member of the welcome team, you will be assigned 5 to 7 new families to contact and will be provided with all the information you need.

*** MARK YOUR CALENDARS - Run for the Peak is Friday, May 13th! ***

Due to scheduling conflicts and testing schedules, our annual Elementary and Middle School Run for the Peak will now be Friday, May 13th (instead of May 6) while our High School Students will be participating in their annual "Rise for the Peak" on Friday, April 15th. During this fun Peak to Peak tradition, elementary and middle school students learn the importance of wellness and goal setting as they participate in a 20-minute fun walk/run on the Peak to Peak turf field.  We invite all community members (including external family and friends) to join us in helping raise funds to help reduce Peak to Peak’s approximate $1,000 per student funding gap while providing our teachers with the resources they need to continue providing exemplary education to all of our K-12 students. Grade level and individual prizes are awarded for fundraising efforts and for displaying important P2P character traits like teamwork and perseverance during this fun event. To be eligible for individual and grade-level prizes (Menchies party with Pete!) donations must be made between Friday, April 22nd - and Sunday, May 15th. More information will be coming home soon, including opportunities to win a reserved parking spot for the 2022-2023 school year.

  • Staff Lunch, Tuesday, May 3rd:  We have our last Staff Appreciation lunch coming up on May 3rd!   The teachers and staff have done incredible work this year taking care of our kids. Let's appreciate them with an international lunch during teacher appreciation this year. This is a popular event for our teachers and staff and the last lunch we will be doing this year, so lots of people will be there. Please email me or call me with any questions or ideas. Nicole Harrison harrisonnicole@me.com (303)803-0453. Thank you for all of the help. Looking forward to celebrating our staff:  International Staff Appreciation Lunch

Volunteer Information

Once on-site volunteering resumes, we will continue to request fingerprints from anyone who intends to volunteer more than once during the school year.  If you had your fingerprints done previously and completed our volunteer waiver and release form then you do not need to complete any volunteer paperwork this year!  Please make sure you have a photo volunteer ID card with a barcode on the back.  If you do not have a photo ID card please stop by the Volunteer Station at registration or contact the office staff.  Please contact Traci Schoeneweis or 303-453-4682 to verify your volunteer status if you are unsure.

If you only intend to volunteer once then you will be required to do the background check (not fingerprints) and the volunteer waiver and release form each year.  You will be given a one-time volunteer ticket to turn in when you volunteer the one time.  Please follow this link to print them or pick them up at registration:  Volunteer Information

Volunteer training is online.  Anyone that is new to the school needs to view this before volunteering.  If you have previously attended or taken the volunteer training you do not need to do it again.  It’s a good idea for returning volunteers to view this as well for a refresher on protocols.  Follow this link Volunteer Training to view the information.  It can also be found on the volunteer page of the school website.

Enter Volunteer Hours from Home:  Thank you for helping us track your hours for our records!  See this training on how to enter volunteer hours from home.

Your Volunteer Team would love to hear from you. If you have any interest in volunteering for anything at all but do not know where to start please email either Allie Cross or Rachel Hirt, Volunteer Coordinators.  They would love to meet you!
