NEW! Annual Online Library Media Center Book Drive
It’s time for the annual LMC Book Drive! For the month of October, we are collecting donations for the library to keep the books up to date and relevant to our students. Please consider donating from the elementary or secondary wish lists on Amazon.com. See this flyer for more information: link to flyer. These lists were curated by our P2P librarians who know what is needed. The annual Book Drive is our only library fundraiser and your help is extremely important. It is our process to invite our school community to provide feedback on proposed new curriculum. We are asking our community for input, not votes, as teachers prepared these derived from student interests, etc. Below you will find links to new curriculum proposals. Join the P2P Boys Basketball team on Wednesday, October 5th between 4:00-8:00 PM at Chipotle in Lafayette. There will be 33% of event sales donated to the team. NEW! Volunteers Needed for the P2P Election Committee
This board committee meets only a few times a year and organizes and runs the annual election of our Board of Director members. If you would like to get involved and help our school with a relatively light time commitment, please contact Traci Schoeneweis. You will need to be available via zoom a couple of times in the late fall/winter and then again in the spring to prepare for our Q&A candidate panel and to certify the election. Our volunteers will need to fill out a confidentiality agreement and need to be board approved to serve on this committee.

Here you will find announcements about events and opportunities shared by our community partners in the surrounding area. These events are not school-sponsored. When we receive requests from outside entities who would like to share information with our community, we post those announcements in this location.

Communication Pathways
At Peak to Peak, we strive for positive, open, and inclusive, two-way communication with our families. To facilitate this goal and to ensure we can address your needs as quickly and efficiently as possible, we use The Communication Pathways as a problem-solving strategy and the Principles for Effective Dialogue to guide a positive experience. The Communication Pathways create an effective and respectful process to resolve and address issues that arise. We have found our dialogue to be particularly productive and mutually beneficial when all parties adhere to the recommended Principles for Productive Dialogue. Please know that when you are seeking information or answers to questions, we always welcome conversations with any member of our community.

K-5 Early Release After School "Fall Fun" Event on October 7th 12:50-3:00 PM
Now that we are past most COVID restrictions, we are excited to announce that we will be bringing back our elementary early release after school events! These events allow our elementary students to stay for a full day on certain early release days. Parents/guardians do not have to pick up the students who attend until 3:00 PM and all proceeds go to support our K-12 student clubs!
All K-5 students are invited to attend our first early release after school event on Friday, October 7th from 12:50-3:00 PM in our south gym. The theme will be "Fall Fun"! The cost is $10 per student. Some of the fun activities will include: mask decorating, a falling leaf art project, and musical pumpkins (like musical chairs).

NEW! Secondary Parent/Guardian/Student/Teacher Conferences
Dear Secondary Families, We are pleased to offer digital sign-ups through Acuity Scheduling to arrange virtual parent/guardian/student/teacher conferences with our 6-12th grade teachers this fall. Shortly, teachers will have updated recommendations on each student's course progress reports and grade reports in Infinite Campus. If you haven’t done so already, please take a few moments to check your Infinite Campus portals and review grade report comments for each class your student is enrolled in. If a conference is recommended by a teacher, or if you have topics you'd like to discuss about a specific course, you may go to the link for Acuity Scheduling, beginning at 7:00 PM on Friday, October 7th (link will be in the Friday Puma Digest and you will be able to schedule your conferences starting at 7:00 PM). Once there, you may select a 10-minute appointment time on either Wednesday, October 12th or Thursday, October 13th between 3:30-6:30 p.m. If a conference is not recommended, you do not need to attend or schedule any conference appointments unless you’d like to check in with a specific teacher of your choice. If attending conferences, we do request that students attend along with parents/guardians as important participants in our conference meetings. Once scheduled, you will receive an appointment confirmation for each conference meeting. You can save these right into your calendars of choice. Teachers will also be sending you a Google Meet link for your scheduled session. Please wait to enter your meeting until your time begins, and be aware that some teachers may be using one conference meet invitation for all of their students and families. If you arrive in a meeting that is still in progress, please give participants a moment or two to wrap up and maintain privacy for families. Thank you for planning ahead for our conferences. We hope this process continues to meet the needs of our students, families, and staff. We appreciate your feedback to help us continually improve our conference offerings each year. October Testing Information and Schedule Change with Early Dismissal for Students
Dear Middle School Families and Students, Thank you for your support this fall as we launched our inaugural 6th grade overnight to the Y of the Rockies, and will soon take our 7th and 8th graders, separately, to a high-ropes experience in Genesee. These are fall experiences we are intentionally creating for all of our students in an effort to continuously support a celebratory, inclusive and connective culture in our middle school. In addition, each October, our 8th graders take the PSAT 8 as part of our instructional preparation for their high school career, and also as a college readiness benchmark (Key Performance Indicator #3) under our school’s strategic plan. On Wednesday, October 19th, our 8th graders will take the PSAT 8 while our 6th and 7th graders will be participating in two separate, grade-level field trips. On this day, all programming will run on a special schedule; there will be no academic classes offered to middle schoolers. Please read below for the information that applies to your student(s) for October 19th:

October 12th PSAT Testing Information for 11th Grade and No School for 9th, 10th, and 12th Grade Students Juniors will take the PSAT/NMSQT on Wednesday, October 12th. Students should arrive no later than 7:45 AM and report directly to their testing room in the north building. Room assignments will be posted outside of the hub and CCC. Students should bring: a water bottle, a snack to be eaten during the break, and a calculator. Students should not bring: any technology, including a phone or smart watch. If these cannot be left in a vehicle or locker, students will need to power them off and turn them into the test proctor for the duration of the test. Students will be done testing and dismissed for the day by 12:00 PM, except for those testing with extended time. Students testing with extended time will dismiss around 1:15 PM. There will be no classes on this day for any high school students. 9th, 10th, and 12th grade students should not come to school.

Annual Fund Drive Coming Soon We’ll be kicking off our 23rd Annual Fund Drive in mid-October. Thank you to all of you who have already asked how you can support Peak to Peak this year. The Annual Fund is the best way each year to support our funding gap and ensure our school stays financially strong. Volunteer Needs

Volunteer Information Thank you for considering to volunteer at Peak to Peak! We will continue to request fingerprints from anyone who intends to volunteer more than once during the school year. If you had your fingerprints done previously and completed our volunteer waiver and release form then you do not need to complete any volunteer paperwork this year! Please make sure you have a photo volunteer ID card with a barcode on the back. Please contact Traci Schoeneweis or 303-453-4682 to verify your volunteer status if you are unsure. If you only intend to volunteer once then you will be required to do the background check (not fingerprints) and the volunteer waiver and release form each year. You will be given a one-time volunteer ticket to turn in when you volunteer the one time. Please follow this link to print them or pick them up at registration: Volunteer Information Volunteer training is online. Anyone that is new to the school needs to view this before volunteering. If you have previously attended or taken the volunteer training you do not need to do it again. It’s a good idea for returning volunteers to view this as well for a refresher on protocols.
