Community Bulletin Board

From the Parents/Guardians page of the Peak to Peak website, you can access the Community Bulletin Board. Here you will find announcements about events and opportunities shared by our community partners in the surrounding area. These events are not school-sponsored. When we receive requests from outside entities who would like to share information with our community, we post those announcements in this location.

Communication Pathways

At Peak to Peak, we strive for positive, open, and inclusive, two-way communication with our families. To facilitate this goal and to ensure we can address your needs as quickly and efficiently as possible, we use The Communication Pathways as a problem-solving strategy and the Principles for Effective Dialogue to guide a positive experience. The Communication Pathways create an effective and respectful process to resolve and address issues that arise. We have found our dialogue to be particularly productive and mutually beneficial when all parties adhere to the recommended Principles for Productive Dialogue. Please know that when you are seeking information or answers to questions, we always welcome conversations with any member of our community.

Secondary Student Learning and Growth - Instructional Videos

In our last video we examined how rubrics help our students target their own learning growth and how we communicate this information to students and families. In case you missed it, feel free to take a look at our informational video on student learning and rubrics. In our newest video we examine how a full standards-based grading approach benefits our students. Many of our eighth-grade classrooms and our 6-12 science classes are implementing this research-based best practice. Take a look at what this might look like on a test and how it might show up in Infinite Campus in our second informational video focused on student learning and growth.

NEW!  1:Web Reminder

Middle School parents/guardians, please help ensure that your students are coming to school with their fully charged 1:Web device each day. This has been causing some disruption in classes when devices are dead or forgotten. We do have a limited number of loaner devices available in the LMC but these are intended for single-day or short-term use. If your student's device is broken, they can find instructions to submit an IT ticket on our website

The Mathcounts Club

The Mathcounts Club meets every lunchtime in room S290 and it is for anyone who is interested in competitive mathematics.  We will be training for the local competition in March.  Please bring your lunch.

Adults, please sign up your student using this link.   Any questions please contact Anita.chakraborty-sp@bvsd.org.

NEW!  Peak Annual Fund - Great Week Pumas!

Thanks to everyone who gave to the Annual Fund this week, over $16,000 was donated in this week alone! Our 3 winning names from our drawing will receive a surprise visit from Pete next week. Have you had a chance to look through our FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) document to learn more about the Peak Annual Fund? We ask our community members to be informed about our unique financial model here at Peak and Peak, and learn about the various ways you can join 20+ years of Puma families in supporting our school through time, talent, and treasure contributions. Although we typically do not raise enough funds to cover our entire funding gap (1.4 million dollars a year), each donation made goes directly to our operating budget to help ensure our school is able to remain financially strong and ensure we have the resources to continue to provide an exceptional educational journey for our K-12 students.

NEW!  K-5 Grandparents & Special Friends Day - Next Friday!

Our annual Special Friends Day will be held on Friday, November 18th 1:30 - 2:45pm. On this day, K-5 Pumas are welcome to invite external adult friends (extended family members, grandparents, family friend etc) to visit them on campus for a classroom tour, teacher meet and greet and a brief welcome and refreshments with our Elementary Principal Ms. Christensen. Please reach out to your elementary Puma’s homeroom teacher or Friends of Peak to Peak with any questions. Guests will check in at the South Building. We look forward to welcoming these special guests to our campus!

NEW!  Pop Up Community Bake and Craft Sale

We are looking to see if there is enough interest to set up a community pop-up craft market and bake sale mid-November/early December. Interested in participating? Volunteer Needs

  • No updates this week!

Volunteer Information

Thank you for considering to volunteer at Peak to Peak!  We will continue to request fingerprints from anyone who intends to volunteer more than once during the school year.  If you had your fingerprints done previously and completed our volunteer waiver and release form then you do not need to complete any volunteer paperwork this year!  Please make sure you have a photo volunteer ID card with a barcode on the back.  Please contact Traci Schoeneweis or 303-453-4682 to verify your volunteer status if you are unsure.

If you only intend to volunteer once then you will be required to do the background check (not fingerprints) and the volunteer waiver and release form each year.  You will be given a one-time volunteer ticket to turn in when you volunteer the one time.  Please follow this link to print them or pick them up at registration:  Volunteer Information

Volunteer training is online.  Anyone that is new to the school needs to view this before volunteering.  If you have previously attended or taken the volunteer training you do not need to do it again.  It’s a good idea for returning volunteers to view this as well for a refresher on protocols.  Follow this link Volunteer Training to view the information.  It can also be found on the volunteer page of the school website.

Your Volunteer Team would love to hear from you. If you have any interest in volunteering for anything at all but do not know where to start please email either Allie Cross or Rachel Hirt, Volunteer Coordinators.  They would love to meet you!
