NEW! BVSD Student Climate Survey Parent/Guardian Notification Letter November 2022 Dear K-8 Parent(s)/Guardian(s), Our elementary and middle schools are administering a nationally developed school climate survey from the American Institutes for Research (‘Safe Supportive Learning Survey’ for grades 5-12 and ‘Conditions for Learning Survey’ for grades 2-4). The district selected these surveys to better understand the current climate of schools across the district. The surveys will ask students about their perceptions of school on topics such as student engagement, school environment, and school safety. Surveys will be administered online by the Office of Student Assessment and Program Evaluation in Boulder Valley School District. Your child will be invited to participate in a survey during regular school hours on Thursday, December 1st or Friday, December 2nd. This will occur during Social Studies at the middle school level, or in homeroom time at the elementary school level. Once your child logs into the survey, they will be asked what they’d like to do, either take the survey or not. If your child agrees to participate, they will spend about 10 minutes at the secondary level and 15 minutes at the elementary level completing the online survey. The list of questions for the district climate survey are attached for review (Questions for grades 2-4; Questions for grades 5-12). Your child does NOT have to answer any questions that they do not wish to answer. For younger students, your child’s teacher will read survey questions aloud while students follow along online. Student responses to the survey will be confidential. Your child’s survey response goes to the Office of Student Assessment and Program Evaluation where staff will delete identifying information and distribute summary results directly to our school. Therefore, no one at our school will know how your child responded to the survey. Your child’s answers will be combined with the answers of other students at our school and across the district to produce reports that will help us better meet the needs of all students to have a safe and engaging learning environment at school. If you have any questions, please contact Alison Berman at 303-453-4640 for elementary, or Victoria Hankey at 303-453-4608 for middle school. Thank you, Alison Berman, Elementary School Assistant Principal & Victoria Hankey, Middle School Assistant Peak to Peak Charter School |

NEW! BVSD Student Climate Survey Parent/Guardian Notification Letter November 2022 Dear high school families, Recently, we were notified about the annual district student climate survey implementation that all BVSD schools must offer this fall. Similar to prior years, this survey asks questions about how students feel about school, the supports they have in place, engagement in classes, respect for cultural diversity, the environment for learning, school safety, and trusting relationships with staff. The survey comes from the American Institutes for Research (‘Safe Supportive Learning Survey’ for grades 9-12). The district selected this survey to better understand the current climate of schools across the district. Surveys will be administered online by the Office of Student Assessment and Program Evaluation in Boulder Valley School District. We are targeting December 1st and 2nd in all English classes to complete the survey. Once your teen logs into the district climate survey, they will be asked what they’d like to do, either take the survey or decline to participate. If your teen agrees to participate, they will spend about 10-15 minutes completing the online climate survey. The list of questions for the district climate survey are attached for review (click here). Please note that your teen does NOT have to answer any questions that they do not wish to answer. Furthermore, all student responses to the survey will be confidential. Your teen’s survey response goes to the Office of Student Assessment and Program Evaluation where staff will delete identifying information and distribute summary results directly to our school. Therefore, no one at our school will know how your teen responded to the survey. Your teen’s answers will be combined with the answers of other students at our school and across the district to produce reports that will help us better meet the needs of all students to have a safe and engaging learning environment. Additionally, please note that we will be implementing our own, internal high school climate and culture survey in early February this year. This survey will also be optional (more details to come). Thank you for your assistance as we continue to provide Colorado with data it needs to improve the quality of student health, learning and our education system. Sincerely, Kyle Mathews, High School Principal Joshua Benson, High School Assistant Principal |

Volunteer Needs
|
Volunteer Information Thank you for considering to volunteer at Peak to Peak! We will continue to request fingerprints from anyone who intends to volunteer more than once during the school year. If you had your fingerprints done previously and completed our volunteer waiver and release form then you do not need to complete any volunteer paperwork this year! Please make sure you have a photo volunteer ID card with a barcode on the back. Please contact Traci Schoeneweis or 303-453-4682 to verify your volunteer status if you are unsure. If you only intend to volunteer once then you will be required to do the background check (not fingerprints) and the volunteer waiver and release form each year. You will be given a one-time volunteer ticket to turn in when you volunteer the one time. Please follow this link to print them or pick them up at registration: Volunteer Information Volunteer training is online. Anyone that is new to the school needs to view this before volunteering. If you have previously attended or taken the volunteer training you do not need to do it again. It’s a good idea for returning volunteers to view this as well for a refresher on protocols. Follow this link Volunteer Training to view the information. It can also be found on the volunteer page of the school website. Your Volunteer Team would love to hear from you. If you have any interest in volunteering for anything at all but do not know where to start please email either Allie Cross or Rachel Hirt, Volunteer Coordinators. They would love to meet you! |
