This is just another reminder to please drive safely, slowly, and cautiously on campus.  We have lots of pedestrians on campus throughout the day.  Please also remember to show good character.  Thank you.

NEW!  Lost and Found Donation

Peak to Peak's lost and found items are located on the first-floor hallway of the south building just outside of the health room. Due to space constraints, items are donated at the end of each month. If your student is missing an item, we invite you to look through the items during school business hours.   Please check for any lost items in December by 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 14th.  Regarding lost and found, we have many valuable items located in our main office safe including glasses, watches, AirPods, and keys. If your student is missing anything of value, please have them check in the main office in the south building.

NEW!  Community Bulletin Board Reminder

Please remember to periodically view our electronic community bulletin board.  We currently have two student-initiated events there you may be interested in participating.  Below is the article that runs every Friday in the digest:

From the Parents/Guardians page of the Peak to Peak website, you can access the Community Bulletin Board. Here you will find announcements about events and opportunities shared by our community partners in the surrounding area. These events are not school-sponsored. When we receive requests from outside entities who would like to share information with our community, we post those announcements in this location.

Secondary Finals Schedule for Fall 2022

Our finals schedule for grades 6th through 12th can be viewed here:  Finals Schedule - First Semester 2022

Please note:
  • High School students only attend periods they have finals.
  • Middle School students attend every period regardless if they have a final in it.  Friday is only if they have to make up a final and not a class period day.
  • All 6th-12th students are dismissed at 11:05 AM Monday, December 12th through Friday, December 16th.  There is no secondary lunch served those days.
  • Regardless of the form that our examinations may take, finals are a required part of our courses, and students are expected to adhere to our final exam schedule published on the school website. Please DO NOT schedule family travel or appointments during finals week that will prevent students from taking their scheduled exams each morning. In case of emergencies, students must alert their teacher and assigned counselor as soon as possible, and get the principal’s permission to take a final in another format (case-by-case review).

NEW!  Second Semester MS Schedule Changes

If a Middle School student would like to make a schedule change, we ask that they do so by the end of the day on Thursday, December 15th, 2022. They can request a change via our Middle School Schedule Change Request form after checking this Middle School Course Availability Spreadsheet. Please be aware there is very little availability in classes and that availability will shift as we complete schedule changes. We cannot shift academic classes at this time. Counselors will not be responding to schedule change requests. Students should check their schedule before they return after winter break for any changes.

NEW!  Middle School New Year’s Dance: Ticket Purchase & Student Guidelines

Dear Middle School Families and Students,

The middle school Student Council, in partnership with the middle school staff, is thrilled to be hosting a winter dance this school year! Please consider joining us for our New Year’s Dance, on Friday, January 13th, from 6-8pm. The recommended dress attire is semi-formal, light snacks and beverages will be provided, and the song list will be compiled by student leaders. In an effort to create a fun and memorable experience for all student attendees, we ask that you review the below expectations for our after school events. As this will be the first school dance for some of our middle schoolers, we want to invite adults at home to have conversations with their child(ren) on how to make this event a fantastic evening for everyone.

  • The purpose of the New Year’s Dance is to provide a school-wide experience for all students that is safe, inclusive and fun. This is our number one goal of the evening. Many community members are coming together to create an event that each of our unique middle schoolers can enjoy.
  • All school rules apply when students attend after hours events like dances. Students should remain respectful of staff, high school student volunteers, parent/guardian volunteers, Student Council leaders and each other. This includes refraining from inappropriate or negative language, cleaning up after eating and drinking, and participating in activities that do not compromise the safety of self or others. Both language and actions should be kind and inclusive.
  • While cell phone use is prevalent in our society, we challenge middle school students to be present with each other at the dance and stay off of social media sites during the dance. No recording of others without permission or harmful social media postings should occur. A student-run photo booth, as well as Yearbook photographers, will be at the dance to capture celebratory photos on behalf of the community.
  • Students are encouraged to try out new activities (and dance moves!) at the event, and invite those around them to participate. Adults and high school student volunteers will be stationed throughout the event area for any additional support, as needed.

After reviewing the above guidelines with your child(ren), you may purchase your ticket(s) here: dance tickets (RevTrak). If you have further questions, please reach out to the middle school Student Council sponsor, Mrs. Bennett (dana.bennett@bvsd.org) or one of the middle school principals. Thank you for your partnership and support – and we look forward to dancing the night away with our middle schoolers!

Save the Date:  8th Grade Lock-In Event

8th Grade Students and Families,

In partnership with Peak to Peak’s middle school staff, parents/guardians of the Class of 2027 are designing a unique and celebratory 8th grade only event on Friday, February 24th, starting at 7pm. The event will be driven by student input, and we hope that inviting 8th graders’ perspective into the planning process will help create a highly attended, inclusive, and enthusiastic experience for all of our 8th graders this year. More information on the night’s activities and costs will be shared in the beginning of January 2023 – including a family form to indicate your 8th grader’s ability to attend. In the meantime, should you have any questions, ideas or interest in helping out, please contact Marian Freshour (mtsoufreshour@gmail.com), Amanda Gundrum (amanda.gundrum@gmail.com) or Rebecca Day (rebecca.day@primus.us).

We hope to see your 8th grader at this upcoming celebration,

NEW!  Peak Annual Fund/Colorado Gives Day THANK YOU!

Thank you to our 250 families who have contributed so far to our Peak Annual Fund. More than $60,000 was raised through Colorado Gives Day, bringing our Annual Fund total to just over $135,000. As a reminder, donations to the Peak Annual Fund go directly to support our annual funding gap. Each dollar contributed is extremely appreciated and serves an important role in keeping our school financially healthy as we support all of our Pumas in their educational journey at Peak to Peak. Thank you!

Volunteer Needs

  • MS Winter Dance:  Save the date and  Sign up here  to volunteer for the Middle School Winter Dance.  Friday, January 13th, 2023 from 6 - 8pm.  We need chaperones and snacks!  Contact Dana Bennett with questions dana.bennett@bvsd.org.

Volunteer Information

Thank you for considering to volunteer at Peak to Peak!  We will continue to request fingerprints from anyone who intends to volunteer more than once during the school year.  If you had your fingerprints done previously and completed our volunteer waiver and release form then you do not need to complete any volunteer paperwork this year!  Please make sure you have a photo volunteer ID card with a barcode on the back.  Please contact Traci Schoeneweis or 303-453-4682 to verify your volunteer status if you are unsure.

If you only intend to volunteer once then you will be required to do the background check (not fingerprints) and the volunteer waiver and release form each year.  You will be given a one-time volunteer ticket to turn in when you volunteer the one time.  Please follow this link to print them or pick them up at registration:  Volunteer Information

Volunteer training is online.  Anyone that is new to the school needs to view this before volunteering.  If you have previously attended or taken the volunteer training you do not need to do it again.  It’s a good idea for returning volunteers to view this as well for a refresher on protocols.  Follow this link Volunteer Training to view the information.  It can also be found on the volunteer page of the school website.

Your Volunteer Team would love to hear from you. If you have any interest in volunteering for anything at all but do not know where to start please email either Allie Cross or Rachel Hirt, Volunteer Coordinators.  They would love to meet you!
