NEW! Host Family Needed
Hello Peak to Peak Families! I’m looking for a host family for a lovely and interesting exchange student for this coming school year. Yaniet is Eritrean and lives in Norway. She’s studious and works two jobs after school. She loves spending time with her family and friends and loves younger kids. Her family consists of 3 brothers and her mom. Her mom says she is very sweet, calm, and understanding and know she will achieve something big in the future. Yaniet describes herself as an “ambivert” - a mix of extrovert and introvert and the funniest of her group of friends. She’s very well-liked by all who know her. She loves all types of ball sports. She’s looking forward to having an American family and friends. To see her public information: https://services.

Middle School Guest Speaker
Dear Middle School Students and Families, It is with genuine excitement that we share with you an upcoming community-wide opportunity funded by Peak to Peak’s Innovation Fund. Under a grant proposal written by Ms. Knorr, our Middle School Transitions and THRIVE Leadership Seminar teacher, Ed Gerety will be joining us as a guest speaker on Wednesday, February 22nd, to facilitate programming aimed to strengthen each student’s identity, purpose and unique contributions to our community. Mr. Gerety is a nationally recognized youth leadership trainer that believes in creating proactive emotional literacy within school communities through interactive storytelling and customized student leadership programs (website). His work is featured, and has been well received by students, in our THRIVE Leadership Seminar curriculum. His on-campus presence will now bring these lessons to life for our entire school community as he works, in partnership with Ms. Knorr and our grade-level leadership team, to customize an experience for each of our grade levels. Over our lunch period, he will also work directly with our House Prefects Leadership team to catapult their efforts in the creation of a student-driven, inclusive and celebratory climate in our middle school. On Wednesday, February 22nd, students at each grade level will rotate into this special programming for 45 minutes only during their 2nd, 4th or 6th period. A full day of instruction will continue throughout the day, and classes will remain aligned with our posted secondary bell schedule. In addition, our House Prefects Leadership team will have the opportunity to collaborate with Mr. Gerety during our regularly scheduled middle school lunch. We are grateful for our school community’s annual contributions to the Peak to Peak Innovation Fund, which is an outgrowth of our community’s commitment to supporting innovative initiatives in classrooms and around campus. It is because of this level of financial support that we are able to bring impactful opportunities like this one to over 400 students in one day. We look forward to seeing Mr. Gerety’s positive impact on our students’ social skills, strengthening of identities and belief in their own capacity for leadership. If you have any further questions, please contact Ms. Knorr or one of the middle school principals. Thank you for your continued partnership with us, Jess Knorr, Middle School Transitions & THRIVE Leadership Seminar teacher Clara Quinlan, Middle School Principal Victoria Hankey, Middle School Assistant Principal |

Volunteer Needs
|
Volunteer Information Thank you for considering to volunteer at Peak to Peak! We will continue to request fingerprints from anyone who intends to volunteer more than once during the school year. If you had your fingerprints done previously and completed our volunteer waiver and release form then you do not need to complete any volunteer paperwork this year! Please make sure you have a photo volunteer ID card with a barcode on the back. Please contact Traci Schoeneweis or 303-453-4682 to verify your volunteer status if you are unsure. If you only intend to volunteer once then you will be required to do the background check (not fingerprints) and the volunteer waiver and release form each year. You will be given a one-time volunteer ticket to turn in when you volunteer the one time. Please follow this link to print them or pick them up at registration: Volunteer Information Volunteer training is online. Anyone that is new to the school needs to view this before volunteering. If you have previously attended or taken the volunteer training you do not need to do it again. It’s a good idea for returning volunteers to view this as well for a refresher on protocols. Follow this link Volunteer Training to view the information. It can also be found on the volunteer page of the school website. Your Volunteer Team would love to hear from you. If you have any interest in volunteering for anything at all but do not know where to start please email either Allie Cross or Rachel Hirt, Volunteer Coordinators. They would love to meet you! |
