11th Grade: Important Testing Updates
Last week, your student brought home their PSAT booklet and score report, along with their HS transcript, and the "Who You are Matters" career statement booklet (which we referenced in last week's Digest). We highly encourage students to use the online code on the back of their booklet to gain access to the Storyteller portal to expand on the work they have already completed. They will only have access to the portal until the end of next week.
During their Junior Days class last week, we covered a lot of ground digging into their transcript, test scores, senior course possibilities, graduation requirements, the CO Admissions Index table, test optional/flexible colleges, and more! Students linked their College Board account with Khan Academy so they could begin personalized test prep for the SAT, while also still accessing their Method Test Prep account. At the end of the lesson, students had the opportunity to opt into the essay for the State SAT on 4/11.
Please refer to the remaining information in this email regarding the practice SAT on Monday, February 27th, as well as upcoming college field trips and Balance Day. We suggest you print this and post it in a prominent place to refer back to these details!
MANDATORY PRACTICE SAT on Monday, 2/27
- Students will go directly to the auditeria when they arrive on campus. We will begin test instructions at 7:55 a.m., so please arrive no later than 7:45.
- If students get extended time on the PSAT or SAT, stay tuned for more info. on an extended time room for this practice SAT
- Students must bring their own calculator
- Students must bring their own #2 pencils (no mechanical pencils)
- Students can bring a water bottle and snack
- Students should NOT bring cell phones into the testing room. They must leave phones in their car or locker.
Students will be dismissed after the test ends, which is expected to be around 12:30.
Students will receive practice SAT results on 3/23 in their Final Review Access class.
The MANDATORY STATE SAT test is on Tuesday, 4/11
Juniors will have Monday, April 10th off to unwind, prepare as needed, and get a good night's sleep before the test on Tuesday.
On Wednesday and Thursday of that week (the 12th and 13th), juniors will either be attending a college field trip of their choice (more details on those trips is coming soon), or will be at the Boulder Rock Club for their Balance Day activities.
Please remember that attendance is expected at ALL of these activities and events. We are confident that all students will benefit from each unique experience!

The College Counseling Center wants encourages all students to consider a range of colleges, including those that are less focused on testing in their admissions processes. For a great list of colleges that de-emphasize testing, click here.
