College Visits:
Lately many students and parents have asked how to go about scheduling a visit to a college.
- Look at this list to see if there is an upcoming open house/event that you’d like to attend.
- If there is, register for that event!
- Go to the college website and search for “visit”
- There may be an Open House or Preview Day visit that works with your schedule.
- Many schools allow you to schedule a visit online by selecting a day from a calendar and choosing what you’d like to do.
- You may need to call a college admission office directly (this is a great time for the student to take the lead!).
- When you visit a school, it is recommended that you do the following:
- Official campus tour
- Admission information session (if offered)
- Eat in the campus facilities
- Talk to a student who isn’t employed by the admission office
- As a junior/senior, sit in on a class, meet with a professor, interview, meet with a coach
Upcoming College Visits:
- In a few weeks, colleges and universities will begin visiting Peak to Peak again. View the list here and register for visits on Naviance. Ms. Benitez will send you a pass.
