NEW The 2018 Annual Peak to Peak Family Survey Deadline Extended

Parents and Guardians:

The deadline for the 2018 Annual Peak to Peak Family Survey has been extended! Has your family responded yet? Don’t miss your chance! We need your input on what you love about Peak to Peak and where you think the school can improve.

More than 300 families have taken the survey so far. We would like to hear from even more of you! So we are extending the deadline to complete the survey to Sunday, Feb 4th. If you have yet to complete the survey, please find time to do so this weekend.

Important Information:

  • Your responses are completely anonymous. Identifying information is neither collected by the survey provider nor available to the survey administrators.

  • The survey only takes a few minutes for each child you have enrolled at Peak to Peak.

  • Please complete the survey only once, and have only one parent/guardian per family complete the survey.

  • Once you hit “Done” at the end of the survey you will not be able to access it again.

  • The survey will be available until midnight, Sunday, February 4th.

Your participation is vital and your responses are invaluable! Your past responses have resulted in many positive changes at Peak to Peak (follow the links below to find out more).

To access the survey, please click on the link found below or on the school website:

NEW Parent/Guardian-Student-Teacher Conferences are Coming!

Dear Families,

We are pleased to offer digital sign-ups through Acuity Scheduling to arrange high school conference meetings with our teachers again this spring. Currently, teachers are making recommendations on each student's course progress reports and grades in Infinite Campus. When progress reports are prepared (by the start of the school day on 2/15/18), you will be able to check your Infinite Campus portals and grade report comments for each of your teen's classes.

If a conference is recommended by a teacher, or if you have topics you'd like to discuss with a specific teacher, you may go to the link for acuity scheduling to select your 10-minute appointment time on either February 22nd or 23rd. If a conference is not recommended, you do not need to attend or schedule any conference appointments unless you’d like to sit down with a specific teacher of your choice. If attending conferences, we do request that students attend along with parents/guardians as important participants in our conference meetings.

Once scheduled, you will receive an appointment confirmation for each conference meeting. You can save these right into your calendars of choice! Please arrive in our new cafeteria space a few minutes ahead of your conference appointments, and wait for your scheduled appointment at the entrance area before proceeding inside or to teacher tables for your meetings. This will help maintain privacy for families during their conference appointments with teachers. When you arrive, please have your conference schedule and teacher names(s) available so you know whom to see.

Thank you for planning ahead for our conferences. We hope this process continues to meet the needs of our students, families and staff. We appreciate your feedback to help us continually improve our conference offerings each year.

Sincerely,

Kyle Mathews, High School Principal

NEW Theater Auditions for Next HS Production "She Kills Monsters"

The Peak to Peak Theatre Department is excited to announce auditions for the High School Production of She Kills Monsters the Young Adventurers edition specifically adapted for High School performers. February 7th & 8th there will be fifteen minute audition slots available between 3:30 – 5:30 PM and can be signed up on the theatre bulletin board. All high school students are welcome to audition and no preparation is required.

The play is a comedic romp into the world of fantasy role-playing games, She Kills Monsters tells the story of high schooler. Agnes Evans as she deals with the death of her younger sister, Tilly. When Agnes stumbles upon Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister’s refuge. In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and ’90s pop culture, acclaimed playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all.

The play is a great complement to the iROAR value of inclusion with themes that touch on anti-bullying, sibling estrangement, sexual identity, and self-discovery.

We would like to invite all of you to join us for our gala "work days"! These are a fun opportunity to provide some hands-on help for misc gala items while enjoying time with other Puma parents. The first one is THIS SATURDAY at Riann and Stu Galvis's house (see this google doc for more info) and the second one will be February 13th (more details to follow). For more information on this please feel free to contact Gala Chair Lisa Ritchie at lisajritchie@hotmail.com or p2p.friends@bvsd.org. Contribute an Item to the Peak Gala Old General Store!
Thank you to all of you who have submitted an item to our Gala silent auction so far! It is truly the parent items that are the most popular and unique!

We are still looking for more items and need your help! Please consider asking businesses you know if they would consider donating an item to our school auction. It's very easy and most enjoy doing it! Many times it results in a new customer or at the very least their name is displayed as a business who supports local students. All donors receive logo recognition on our mobile bidding site and are listed in our event program. Please visit this site for more information including downloadable letters and forms. Also, donation information can be conveniently entered here including info on how to have items picked up and certificates made by our committee if desired.

* Come visit Friends of P2P February 7-9th (elementary conferences) in the South Lobby where we will be collecting auction items selling tickets! *

Thank you to all of you who have already purchased your tickets! Many details (including food and bar) depend on our number of guests attending so if you know you are coming to this year's gala PLEASE purchase your tickets! The committee has a fun night planned and we hope to see you there. With no assigned seating, it's a perfect year to come enjoy our Western food stations, try your luck at the Puma Casino and shop at the Old General Store!

Junior & Senior Etiquette Lunch

Mr. Rauscher is planning a Junior & Senior Etiquette Lunch for Thursday, February 15th from 1:00-3:00 PM at the Lionsgate Center. This is such an amazing event he has hosted in the past and is now bringing it to Peak to Peak. He will focus on getting the high school kids comfortable with formal dining, networking protocol, and all over etiquette for out in the world. His hope is to have 40-55 seniors at tables of 8 with 1 spot reserved for an adult who can act as a sort of "hiring manager". We will likely start the event with a 30 minute mingling around passed appetizers, time to work on greetings, handshakes, etc. then move to a 4-course dinner of soup, salad, spaghetti, and dessert. There will also be a presentation during the meal. We need volunteers to help make this happen, please sign up below:

Elementary Talent Show

The Elementary Talent Show is coming up and we need your help to make it happen. Please see the attached spreadsheets to volunteer. Vanessa Bonner has graciously taken on running the whole event but will need help. Please sign up below if you can help:

Elementary School Lunch Assistance

We would love 3 parents to commit to Monday’s and/or Friday’s for another set of eyes on the kids before, during, and after the lunch period from 10:30-11:30 AM. Please sign up for a day that you can do every week consistently. It is an easy way to volunteer and keep track of everything happening at school.

Middle School Lunch Assistance

We would love 1 or 2 more people to commit to a day of the week. The middle school staff would like assistance during the kids' lunch time. They would like another set of eyes on the kids before, during, and after the lunch period from 12:00-12:30 PM. Please sign up for a day that you can do every week consistently. It is an easy way to volunteer and keep track of everything happening at school.
