Senior Graduation

Senior families, this page is your one-stop shop for all things Graduation! This page will be updated periodically as new information becomes available. Any date or event changes will be shared in the Weekly Digest and/or direct family communication.

If you have any questions, please contact the Graduation Coordinators tracy.durland@bvsd.org and/or alison.cross@bvsd.org.

Graduation Ceremony

The graduation date for 2026 is Friday, May 15th at 5:00 PM in the Northeast (high school) Gym. Doors open at 4:00 PM.

Graduation is a ticketed event. Each senior is given 8 tickets during Tuesday's checkout process as part of their graduation package. Families who need more than 8 tickets are encouraged to reach out to other senior families to inquire about extras. Additional tickets are also available at the door beginning at 4:00 PM on a first-come, first-served basis. All attendees will need a ticket to enter, except for graduating seniors.

The graduation ceremony will be live-streamed and later posted to the Peak to Peak YouTube channel.

Graduates are required to wear their Peak to Peak cap and gown in order to participate in the graduation ceremony. Only Peak to Peak-provided regalia can be worn during the ceremony. Seniors are welcome to decorate their caps, provided they are school-appropriate, do not extend past the edge of the cap, and are not more than one inch tall.

Seniors should arrive at the northwest (middle school) gym by 4:00 PM, dressed in their cap and gown. Doors open to ticket-holders at 4:00 PM as well.

The graduation ceremony begins promptly at 5:00 PM and typically lasts no more than 90 minutes.

Lifetouch will be present to take official commencement photos of each student after they cross the stage. Photos will be available online approximately one week after graduation.

Caps & Gowns

Beginning with the Class of 2026, all graduation regalia is ordered in bulk from Jostens and covered by student fees. Seniors and/or families will be sent a Google Form in the fall to share their height information and ensure the correct size is ordered. Additional commemorative items can be ordered directly from Jostens website. Caps and gowns will be distributed as part of Senior Checkout in the week preceding graduation.

Senior Dates 2026

Senior Posters are optional, but fun! Senior posters should be no larger than standard poster board size. The school is happy to offer free laminating, provided there are no 3D elements on the poster. Posters can be dropped off in the High School Hub any time after Spring Break and should be collected during Night of Reflections or Senior Breakfast. Posters will be hung in the high school hallway and displayed as a celebration of our graduating class.

Transition to College Night is a parent/guardian-only event led by our high school counseling team. This is a time to learn how to prepare for your student "leaving the nest." This event will be held on Monday, May 4th, from 5:30-7:00 PM in the College Counseling Center.

AP Testing typically begins the first full week in May, per College Board's exam schedule. This means that exams and makeup exams can potentially overlap with senior events or take place after graduation. Please reach out to the Testing Coordinator (james.fuller@bvsd.org) to discuss possible arrangements if you anticipate a conflict. Peak to Peak does its best to avoid scheduling senior week events at the same time as Senior Exams, but this is not always possible.

Senior Check Out is a required activity for all graduating seniors and takes place on the Tuesday before graduation. There are two checkout windows: 9:00-10:30 AM and 1:00-2:30 PM. Students are strongly encouraged to use the first time slot in case they need additional time to locate missing items or complete tasks. Please help your seniors by paying any outstanding fines or fees before checkout. Once your senior completes the checkout process, they will receive their graduation package, including: cap and gown, any other regalia items (stoles, cords, pins, etc.), graduation ceremony tickets, their diploma, and other miscellaneous senior items. This is also a time to collect any senior athletic banners.

Senior Tunnel is one of our oldest traditions at Peak to Peak. This is an opportunity to allow the Peak to Peak community to send off our seniors in a K-12 celebration. Parents/guardians and families are welcome to attend. Watch the Weekly Digest for detailed timing information in early May.

Senior Breakfast, Mandatory Rehearsal, and Formal Panoramic Class Photo takes place on the Wednesday morning of graduation week. Students should bring their caps, gowns, stoles, and tassels to participate in the photo at 9:00 AM. The photo is taken by Lifetouch in the high school gym and can be ordered online. The link is typically provided during Senior Checkout, or as soon as it becomes available. Senior Breakfast is in the Cafeteria immediately following the class photo. After the breakfast, seniors will participate in the mandatory rehearsal. These events will be done no later than 12:00 PM. Seniors who have a conflict during rehearsal should reach out to the Graduation Coordinator.
